The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in partnership with the Consulate General of Vietnam and the Vietnamese Trade Office in San Francisco, California, co-organized a seminar titled "Connecting the Supply Chain of Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquatic Products Import and Export between Vietnam and the United States." Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam led the seminar.
The event garnered the participation of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products associations, logistics service associations in Vietnam, distribution channels, supermarket chains in the United States, and more than 60 enterprises involved in the production, business, and processing of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, as well as logistics services for the import and export of agricultural products.
At the seminar, Vietnamese and U.S. associations and enterprises engaged in active discussions and exchanged information regarding the demand, consumer preferences, and cooperation requirements for importing and exporting, distributing, consuming, and promoting trade of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products between the two parties. Simultaneously, they suggested that relevant authorities establish conducive circumstances and collaborate to promptly address challenges and barriers that may arise during the importation of agricultural products into the United States.
During the event, a signing ceremony for memoranda of understanding (MOUs) occurred. These MOUs aimed to implement proposals and solutions that would enhance the linkage of the shared supply chain for importing and exporting agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products between the two parties.
Thuy Loi University and AI20X Corporation collaborated on training, science, and technology in the field of irrigation and agriculture to guarantee the availability of agricultural products and enhance their quality. CBS Solutions Joint Stock Company and Trade Tech Company partnered on logistics cooperation in agricultural trade. RIE Corporation and EPG Group joined forces for technology cooperation and a feasibility study for constructing a specialized air transport route that connects the supply chain of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products import and export between Vietnam and the United States.
During the occasion, Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam stressed the importance of regular information exchange and collaboration between Vietnamese and U.S. associations and businesses. This collaboration aims to establish production, supply, and logistics chains, as well as promote product consumption through trade promotion efforts. In addition, they should collaborate in arranging and taking part in networking seminars, trade shows, and exhibits to enhance and present the capabilities and advantages of agricultural products, with the aim of boosting the value of agricultural imports and exports between the two nations.
