Vifa Expo 2024 has attracted many domestic and international wood and handicraft businesses, seeking collaboration opportunities.

At the press conference on February 19, Mr. Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), shared that in 2024, Vietnam’s wood industry had achieved significant accomplishments on the international stage. The export turnover of wood and wood products was estimated to reach 16.25 billion USD, reflecting a growth of over 20% compared to 2023.

Notably, the export value of wood products alone reached 11.2 billion USD, an increase of nearly 22% compared to the previous year. Many key products, such as bedroom furniture (up 28.8%), kitchen furniture (19.6%), and living and dining room furniture (19.4%), recorded impressive growth rates. Other items, such as wooden frame chairs, flooring and wood chips, were also in high demand in international markets.

Mr. Vo Tan Thanh emphasized: "This success was largely due to the proactive approach of businesses in seeking out new markets, actively participating in exhibitions and fairs, and seizing the recovery opportunities from major international partners like the United States and Europe". He further evaluated that the 16th Vietnam International Furniture and Home Decor Expo (Vifa Expo 2025) will serve as not only a key driving force for the Vietnamese furniture industry to expand its reach globally but also as an ideal venue for thousands of businesses looking to connect with potential customers.

Additionally, according to VCCI’s leadership, with its well-established reputation on the international stage, Vifa Expo 2025 will continue to strengthen its brand presence while expanding in scale. This will be a clear testament to the remarkable rise of Vietnam’s wood industry in the global market.

Mr. Dang Quoc Hung, Director of Lien Minh Wood Handicraft Joint Stock Company, shared that Vifa Expo 2025 will feature over 650 enterprises from 19 countries and regions. This event will be the largest of its kind ever, with more than 2,500 exhibition booths displaying a wide variety of products in fields such as interior and exterior furniture, handicrafts, home decor, along with machinery, equipment, tools and supporting services.

The event has attracted international companies from major markets, including Denmark, China, the United States, Japan, and many other countries.

Vifa Expo 2025 aims to provide direct connections between businesses and global buyers, not only creating valuable trading opportunities but also organizing specialized workshops focusing on export trends and e-commerce. These seminars will serve as a foundation for Vietnamese companies to more effectively access international markets. Furthermore, it will assist businesses in exploring new markets like the Middle East, India, South America and Africa, which will help Vietnamese enterprises diversify their target markets and open up sustainable growth opportunities”, Mr. Dang Quoc Hung stated. He also mentioned that the Guangdong provincial government in China has ranked Vifa Expo 2025 as a major fair, marking a significant milestone in the robust growth of Vietnam’s furniture and home decor sector.

The 16th Vietnam International Furniture and Handicraft Export Expo (Vifa Expo 2025) will be organized by Lien Minh Wood Handicraft Joint Stock Company, the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI - HCM), and the Vietnam Building Materials Association (VABM). The event will take place from March 5 to 8 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), located in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

This year’s edition promises to be a significant event with the participation of major cross-border e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Wayfair. These platforms will offer Vietnamese businesses the opportunity to engage in direct B2C trade with global consumers.
