Q-FAIR 2025: Breakthrough opportunity for Binh Dinh wood industry

(VAN) Binh Dinh's wood industry diversifies customers and markets to achieve the export target of 1.2 billion USD in 2025.

Wood products confirmed on the market

According to Mr. Le Minh Thien, Chairman of the Forest Products Association of Binh Dinh, the locality is not only one of the leading outdoor product production centers in Vietnam but also the convergence of about 245 businesses, focusing mainly in Phu Tai and Long My Industrial Parks (Quy Nhon City).

In 2024, wooden, exterior, and garden furniture in particular reached approximately 435 million USD, up 12.1% compared to 2023. Wood chips and wood pellets reached more than 414 million USD, up 10.9%. Products from resin wicker reached nearly 212 million USD, up 28.8%. In 11 months of 2024, the province's export value of raw wood reached 314.9 million USD, increasing by 113.3 million USD over the same period last year. This demonstrates the strong development of the industry.

“Binh Dinh's exported wood items have high added value and are applied with advanced technology. Businesses apply quality and environmental management systems; raw wood achieves certificates such as ISO 9001, FSC/VFCS-PEFC COC/FM, AMFORI BSCI, SMETA, CTPAT, etc. A force of 30,000 skilled workers, with industrial manners, has attracted customers,” said Mr. Le Minh Thien.

In 2024, Binh Dinh's export turnover of outdoor furniture and exterior furniture experienced a strong increasing trend. These items were mainly exported to the US market. While the group of resin wicker products increased sharply by nearly 30%, the group of wood chips and wood pellets exported to the Chinese, South Korean, and Japanese markets still retained an increase of over 10% compared to 2023.

“In the past year, the Binh Dinh wood industry continues to expand market share in main markets such as the US and Canada (accounting for 50%); the EU (accounting for 33%); Northeast Asia, such as Japan, South Korea, and China; and the remaining markets (accounting for 17%),” shared Mr. Le Minh Thien.

Promoting digital communication

Entering the new year of 2025, Binh Dinh's wood industry will elevate the linkage cooperation with associations and domestic and foreign organizations to capture multi-dimensional information and promote trade promotion to keep winning. At the beginning of 2025, the export market of the wood industry had positive signals.

According to Mr. Le Van Luong, General Director of Dai Thanh Furniture Joint Stock Company (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh), this company currently has an order to work until mid-2025. The company continues to renovate technology to meet the requirements of demanding customers.

Hoang Giang Trading Co., Ltd. (Quy Nhon city) is one of the leading businesses in the Binh Dinh wood industry with a variety of high-quality outdoor products and wicker tables and chairs. Through many years of development, products of Hoang Giang Trading Co., Ltd. have affirmed their position in the international market. According to Mr. Le Quang Bao Anh, Deputy Director of the Company, Hoang Giang Trading Co., Ltd., now has five factories with a total area of nearly 100,000 m². Each month the company exports 350 containers of goods, creating stable jobs for more than 1,000 employees.

“In early March 2025, Binh Dinh will organize the Quy Nhon International Outdoor Lifestyle Fair 2025 (Q-FAIR 2025). We will bring to Q-FAIR 2025 lots of high-quality products and new raw materials in accordance with the modern trend. Coming to Q-FAIR 2025 this time, we hope to seek many new international partners and meet many businesses supplying auxiliary goods for paint, materials, logistics, etc.,” said Mr. Le Quang Bao Anh.

According to Mr. Luu Phuoc Loc, Executive Director of Vietnam Forestry Fair Joint Stock Company (VIFOREST FAIR), Q-FAIR 2024 had the participation of more than 100 businesses. Of which, accounting for 80% are leading businesses in the field of interior-exterior production; 20% of businesses specialize in machinery, accessories, and other services.

It is expected that the scale of Q-FAIR 2025 will increase by 30% compared to last year with the presence of more than 100 leading businesses. In particular, over 60% of customers who participated in Q-FAIR 2024 trusted and will continue Q-FAIR 2025 with more than 1,200 stalls of domestic and foreign businesses.

“Q-FAIR 2025 will be a great opportunity for domestic trade promotion activities as well as export promotion to more than 150 countries and territories around the world of the wood industry of Binh Dinh in particular and the whole country in general,” said Mr. Le Minh Thien, Chairman of the Forest Products Association of Binh Dinh.
