15 years since Lang Co has been recognized as one of the world most beautiful bays

On April 12, the People's Committee of Phu Loc district (Thua Thien - Hue province) held a press conference to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being recognized as a beautiful bay of the world.

Lang Co Bay is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Vietnam, located between the two big cities of Hue and Da Nang, on the Central heritage road "Phong Nha - Ke Bang - Hue Ancient Capital - Hoi An Ancient Town - My Son Sanctuary" and the East - West economic corridor.

15 years ago, in May 2009, at the 5th Summit of the World's Most Beautiful Bays Club (Worldbays Club) held in Setubal city (Portugal), Lang Co Bay was elected chosen to be the 30th member of this Club.

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being honored as the world's most beautiful bay, Phu Loc district will hold a celebration of this event with the theme 'Lang Co - World's most beautiful bay - 15 years of construction and development'.

The event aims to continue promoting the image of Lang Co Bay associated with the potential and strengths of tourism development of Phu Loc district to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to attract investment resources and promote tourism development; contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of making tourism a key economic sector of the district, creating motivation for growth and economic restructuring.

According to the organizing committee, this is an activity to contribute to creating unique tourism products to serve people and domestic and international tourists; contributing to stimulating tourism demand, especially in the summer of 2024, creating a premise for the following years to make Lang Co an attractive destination on the North - South natural road.

Within the framework of the program, many traditional and modern art, cultural and sports activities will take place to promote the beauty of Vietnamese culture to domestic and foreign tourists and friends such as Bai choi, cuisine, kite flying art, fair combined with display, introducing key products, local OCOP, fishing festival, traditional boat racing, basket boat racing, paragliding, jogging, shooting low altitude fireworks...

According to the plan, the event celebrating the 15th anniversary of "Lang Co Bay being recognized as a world beautiful bay" will be associated with the opening of Nguyen Van walking street on the edge of Lap An lagoon.

According to Decision No. 108/QD-TTg approving Thua Thien - Hue Urban Master Plan until 2045, vision to 2065 has just been announced, Lang Co is oriented to develop in long-term association with a deep-sea port, Chan May international industrial and commercial park, Chan May urban area in the roadmap to build Thua Thien - Hue into a centrally run city.

Previously, from March 26, Vietnam Railway Corporation organized the train "Connecting Central Heritage", in the form of transport business combined with exploiting tourism services connecting Hue - Da Nang and Da Nang vice versa. One of the stops on this train's journey is Lang Co Bay.
