The rubber seed farm of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation (Donaruco) was established in 2019, located in Suoi Tre ward, Long Khanh city, Dong Nai province.
The seed farm has an area of 34 hectares, producing 1 million high-quality rubber seedlings each year, providing for the recultivation of 1,000 to 1,200 hectares per year on Donaruco's farms. In addition, the farm also provides high quality rubber seedlings for small rubber households in the area.
The farm is currently producing 6 rubber varieties, namely RRIV 1, RRIV 103, RRIV 114, RRIV 209, RRIV 106 and PB 255, created by the Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam. These are rubber varieties with high yield at 2 tons/hectare; they also have the advantage of rubber wood exploiting - an important source of raw materials in the current wood processing and export industry.
Mr. Nguyen Kim Canh, in charge of these rubber seed farms, said that the farms produce seedlings through the technique of foliar nursery. This is the most optimal production method in most rubber growing countries in the world.
Donaruco's rubber farn is fundamentally planned following the seedling production process of the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) and the Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam. The garden has an automatic irrigation system.
Donaruco has invested in the rubber seed farm with flying equipment since February to fertilize and spray the entire area of 34 hectares, thereby greatly reducing labor and spraying time (reducing from 20 employees in 5 days of labor to 2 workers in 5 hours of labor), resulting in healthy and uniform growth of the seedlings.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation is confident that this is VRG's largest rubber seed farm, as well as the largest rubber seed farm in the world.
With these rubber seed farms, Donaruco is preparing to establish Dong Nai Rubber Seed Company. This company will produce high quality rubber seedlings as well as produce urban tree varieties to serve the needs of urban and industrial park development in Dong Nai province. The farm has currently tested with nearly 30 types of urban green trees and construction trees.
