WinCommerce General Commercial Services Joint Stock Company, which is a subsidiary of Masan Group and the parent company of WinMart+/WinMart/WIN, and Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company signed an MoU on October 21 to work together on Son La coffee survey research and product development within the WinCommerce retail system. The event was part of a series of highlight activities of the Son La Coffee Festival and the Inauguration of the Son La Coffee Plant, with the purpose of demonstrating the province's commitment to partnership in order to promote the future sustainability of coffee sources.
Run by Son La Coffee Processing JSC, the factory has a capacity of 50,000 tonnes of fresh coffee berries, equivalent to 12,500 tons of coffee beans per year, with a system of wastewater and solid waste treatment.
The facility is expected to help solve existing problems in coffee development in Son La, contributing to boosting the locality's industrial production and export revenue, creating more jobs and increasing incomes for local laborers, and promoting local socio-economic development, said Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Son La Party Committee.
Son La Coffee Festival is being conducted for the first time this year to honor coffee production, processing, and trading activities, as well as promote the image and culture of the province's distinctive coffee. Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue, high-level representatives of relevant ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as distributors and retailers from across the nation, including WinCommerce, attended the event.

With over 3,500 supermarkets, WinMart/WinMart+/WIN stores in 62 provinces and localities, WinCommerce is the largest and most advanced retail platform in Vietnam. With the largest number of domestic selling points and efforts to diversify retail models for specific regions, WinCommerce aims to increase the consumption of goods in general and the Son La coffee brand in particular, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the economic value of this commodity and Son La specialty in order to reach a larger number of consumers across the nation.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, shared the following regarding the province's partnership with WinCommerce: "Son La province highly values the partnership with WinCommerce to supply agricultural products and coffee to the retail chain. I believe that with WinCommerce's experience, expertise, and robust supermarket and store network, both parties will collaborate extensively to bring high-quality Vietnamese products closer to consumers, thereby increasing the economic value of local agricultural products and contributing to Son La province's prosperity."

According to the memorandum, WinCommerce will devise a strategy to survey, evaluate, and collaborate with Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company to complete the supply documents in accordance with WinMart and WinMart+ specifications. In addition, they will share their expertise in developing a source of high-quality and sustainable products, contributing to the shared objective of expanding the value chain and the Son La Coffee brand.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, chief executive officer of WinCommerce, added, "WinCommerce is committed to partnering with Son La province to introduce Son La coffee products into modern retail systems and deliver new experiences to a broad variety of consumers. In addition to Son La, we are collaborating with numerous communities across the nation to develop a sustainable source of supply for WinMart and WinMart+, thereby assisting to assure the locals' livelihoods.

Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company was founded in May 2023 with the intention of introducing the "Son La Coffee" brand to the global market. In July of 2023, the province approved the construction of a coffee processing facility. The company currently possesses two production lines: a moist process employing water-saving technology and a dry process, a dust removal line, with a total annual capacity of 50,000 tons of fresh coffee cherries (equivalent to 12,500 tons of green coffee beans).
The collaboration between WinCommerce and the Son La Coffee Processing Company, as well as their participation in the Son La Coffee Festival, is part of WinCommerce's strategy to promote the consumption of agricultural products and domestic goods from various regions of the country, thereby contributing to the development of a sustainable supply of goods and providing consumers with high-quality products at reasonable prices.
