Tien Giang province has the largest area of fruit in the Mekong Delta with about 82,000ha of specialty ones. The fruit park project with its economic and cultural value is aimed to develop tourism, promote and arouse the local garden economic value of Tien Giang in particular, and the Mekong Delta in general.
The project expects to be completed and put into operation in 2025, to serve tourism activities in the linkage between Cai Be floating market, Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village, and other river eco-tourism sites in Tien Giang and Vinh Long provinces. At the same time, the fruit park is also a place to preserve, provide seedlings, purchase and sell local specialty fruits, serving the tourism needs in local areas.
