The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (Agritrade), in coordination with relevant agencies, organized a business matching conference on November 20 for Vietnamese and Chinese companies. The event also showcased the launch of the Vietnamese agricultural products stall on Chinese e-commerce platforms and social media.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development tasked the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center with leading and coordinating with Sunwah Group (Hong Kong, China). Accordingly, the center will collaborate with Sunwah Gelafood Company to establish and operate the "Vietnamese Agricultural Products Stall" on e-commerce platforms and social media in China.
The stall aims to connect with consumers through short videos and livestreaming. Moreover, it will enable Vietnamese suppliers to sell directly to Chinese consumers and introduce branded products to the Chinese market.
Sunwah Gelafood has registered the Vietnamese agricultural products stall on Tiktok and a best-selling Vietnamese products stall on Kuaishou. The company also plans to register the Vietnamese agricultural products stall on Taobao, JD.com, and Xiaohongshu.
Regarding entry standards, the Vietnamese agricultural products stall must comply with China's cross-border import list and relevant quality regulations and standards in Vietnam. Furthermore, products must have intellectual property rights, independent branding, and an expressed desire to register their trademarks in China with the aim of expanding their brand presence.
Businesses must maintain regular operation for over three years or receive approval from Sunwah Gelafood to participate in the Vietnamese agricultural products stall. They must demonstrate sufficient supply capacity, effective customer service, and agree to export products to China under the cross-border e-commerce model. Additionally, they must comply with the rules of relevant e-commerce platforms, share the deposit costs, and adhere to China's general trade regulations as approved by Sunwah Gelafood.
Businesses looking to showcase their products at the stall must provide the necessary certifications for Sunwah Gelafood's evaluation. After a trial order run, businesses can assess the import-export and sales performance before making a final decision on their participation. Upon successful trial operations, businesses will negotiate detailed cooperation terms with Sunwah Gelafood and sign an agreement to join the stall. Based on the results of the trial order sales, businesses will develop production and export plans for subsequent shipments to Sunwah Gelafood's bonded warehouse in Luoyang for livestream promotions.
