The Austrian Economic Chambers (WKO) has just organized Asia Day - an annual event bringing together Austrian businesses and partners from the Asia-Pacific region (from December 3). The event attracted nearly 900 participants, including 750 representatives from Austrian companies, along with the participation of Austrian trade counselors, embassies of Asian countries in Austria, and international economic experts.

The event was attended by Austrian Minister of Labour Martin Kocher, WKO Vice President Amelie Gross, and many Austrian and international business communities. After Austria and Germany, Vietnam stood out with the third largest number of registered participants, demonstrating the strong interest of Vietnamese businesses in the Austrian market.

At the event, the Vietnam Trade Office in Austria organized an exhibition booth, introducing agricultural products and typical goods of the country, such as rice, Dalat mushrooms, Habeco beer, coconut milk, health care products, fashion, and handicrafts. The booth attracted significant attention from the Austrian business community and international partners.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria, Vu Le Thai Hoang, participated in the presentation session on Vietnam's economy and thematic discussions and interacted with Austrian companies. WKO leaders highly appreciated the potential for cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region, stating that Vietnam and Southeast Asia will receive a "second wave" of investment from Austria in manufacturing technology, renewable energy, healthcare, infrastructure, and logistics.

The event was also an opportunity for WKO to launch an online platform (www.asiaday.at), facilitating information exchange and business cooperation between businesses. In the context of many challenges in global trade, promoting business connections between Austria and Asia-Pacific countries is essential.

WKO Vice President Amelie Gross emphasized that Vietnam's active participation contributed to the program's success, and affirmed her desire for long-term cooperation with Vietnam through future trade and investment initiatives.

As one of the region's most dynamic and potential markets, Vietnam is expected to continue to be an attractive destination for Austrian businesses in the coming time.
