Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam expressed his warm welcome toward Minister of Agriculture of Cuba Ydael Pérez Brito and officials upon the Cuban agricultural delegation’s visit and work session with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.

“There is currently a need for further development of agricultural technology in Cuba. It is common knowledge that the development of the country will lead to a reduction in the workforce in rural and mountainous areas, so we aim to increase productivity and output," said the Cuban Minister of Agriculture.
Understanding the difficulties of the friend country due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam said that Vietnam was also a country heavily affected by the impacts of the recent pandemic. In that context, the Party and Government have directed that Vietnam must be self-reliant and take the initiative to ensure domestic food security and export.
