This is the first time a large-scale agriculture forum has been held in Vietnam with the application of virtual reality technology.
The Vietnam Agriculture Digital Transformation International Forum 2021 officially took place in Hà Nội on September 16, including two thematic sessions and a plenary session.
It is co-held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA), and online newspaper VnExpress under the theme “Keeping up with market trends, ensuring the pivotal role of the economy during and after the COVID-19 pandemic,” expecting to attract more than 1,000 delegates.
In the context of climate change and complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam's agricultural sector continues to affirm its role as "the backbone of the economy" by firmly ensuring food security of the nation in all situations, creating livelihoods, jobs and stable incomes for rural people, making an important contribution to socio-political stability and national development.
Over the years, the agricultural sector and many localities have focused and actively applied digital solutions in agricultural production and rural management.
According to the assessment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, more and more units have approached and applied digital technology in cultivation, husbandry, fisheries, forestry...
Some large enterprises have applied advanced and information technology in the production, distribution and consumption of products.
The "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025 with a vision to 2030" was issued by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 749/QD-TTg dated June 3, 2020, stating that agriculture is one of the key industries that need to be prioritized for digital transformation first.
Accordingly, hi-tech agriculture will be developed in the direction of focusing on smart agriculture and precision agriculture, increasing the proportion of digital agriculture in the economy.
Implementing digital transformation in agriculture must be based on data. Digital technology will be applied to automate production and business processes. Digital transformation in management will be implemented strongly
to have timely policies and administration of agricultural development such as forecasting, market warning and planning management.
The Vietnam Agriculture Digital Transformation International Forum 2021 aims to promote dialogue between government agencies, policymakers, localities, organizations, associations, experts and businesses in the field of digital transformation on key issues in Vietnam's agricultural development strategy towards digitization.
It is held in the context that the world is undergoing rapid and unpredictable changes, especially under the impact of the global pandemic, thereby proposing breakthrough solutions to promote the digital transformation of Vietnam's Agriculture.
Notably, this is the first time a large-scale agriculture forum has been held in Vietnam with the application of virtual reality technology.
Delegates will experience the virtual conference space with special features such as checking-in; taking commemorative photos at the photo booth area of the program; receiving instructions and documents at the reception area; attending directly in the program and asking questions to the speakers; discussing with other participants as well as many other attractive features.
Such modern features enable participants to access the form of "virtual conference - real experience", even if they do not directly present at the venue, they can still follow and genuinely participate in all activities within the Forum.
