The Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center has developed many chicken farming models in accordance with VietnamGAHP, connecting them to consumed goods and assisting farmers in overcoming livestock production flaws and restrictions. As a result, income and product quality are increased, socioeconomic growth is facilitated, and community health is protected.
For instance, the Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center in Quoc Tuan commune, An Duong district, is implementing a model of employing modern methods in chicken seedling growing in accordance with VietnamGAHP and including product consumption connections.
Between June and December, the approach was implemented on a scale of over 4,700 heads in three agricultural households. Attendants are instructed to create barns to maintain biosecurity in a separate location. They constructed walls and fences to isolate them from the surrounding region, complete with access gates and disinfection pits.
Farmers following the model are also advised to import and incorporate chickens, to care for and nurture them, to use veterinary treatments, to clean and sterilize stables, to pay particular attention to immunization, and to supplement food with probiotics. Feed and create biological padding, supplement food with probiotics and herbs, drink water instead of antibiotics for illness prevention and treatment, and document and monitor the breeding process...
Simultaneously, stakeholders have the Agricultural extension center sign contracts with the VietGAHP certification unit to evaluate and grant VietGAHP certification, as well as being assisted in connecting with the consumption linkage unit to consume all products of the model that cost higher than VND 2,000–3,000 per kg than those sold on the market.
Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan, a resident of Quoc Tuan commune in the An Duong district, said that his family did not acknowledge much technology in the past, preferring to raise it naturally, making it impossible to guarantee the number of chicken heads. Now, with technological assistance, the family can manage the illness issue; the hens have fewer infections and use less antibiotics, and the birds' quality has increased.
"I'm overjoyed because, in addition to guaranteeing the number of heads, we're introduced to signing a trade deal with Bao Quan Agricultural Production, Business, and Service Cooperative through the agricultural extension center. We are cultivating 1,000 chickens and anticipate a profit of VND 30,000 per head," Xuan cheerfully revealed.
"Locals and livestock families that have enrolled for the model are in need of producing colorful feathered chickens via the use of VietGAHP in conjunction with product consumption. As a result, when deployed, the model's contents are completely appropriate and meet the practical needs of local livestock production development, contributing to the model's high efficiency and ability to be replicated for mass production "Cao Thanh Huyen, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center, confirmed.
According to the Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center, the average rate of live chickens reaching for sale through the model is 98.9 percent, which is 3 to 4 percent higher than raising chickens outside the model.
The Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center signed a contract with the VietGAHP certification unit to organize the assessment and issue VietGAHP certificates to participating households. Simultaneously, the affiliate product consuming unit is connected to the Bao Quan Agricultural Production, Business, and Service Cooperative, which connects to consuming all model goods.
