On November 26th, VFC held an online conference "Summarizing the program of Farmers’ support with VFC - Field of integration".
Following "Farmers’ support with VFC", Vietnam Fumigation JSC (VFC), a member of PAN Group, has implemented the program "Field of Integration" with the hope to create opportunities to change traditional farming practices, develop communities to produce on a uniform scale.
The conference received the attendance of leaders of PAN Group, leaders of VFC, representatives of scientists from Can Tho University, Mekong Delta Rice Research Institute, and television stations of Dong Thap, Hau Giang and Soc Trang, along with partners from Syngenta, Corteva and more. In particular, the conference also the gathering of nearly 200 integrated farmers and thousands of farmers from all bridgepoints.
Officially launched on January 9th, 2021, the program’s goal is to join hands with farmers to build green - sustainable - integration-ready agriculture. Many integrated fields have been built based on the application of advanced scientific and technical farming techniques.
“Farmers’ support with VFC - Field of integration” aims towards sustainable production values in line with the trend of integration, scientific and smart farming. The prime motto is to produce "efficiently - safely - profitably". Together farmers’ income will be improved, and the competitiveness of Vietnamese rice grains in the international market shall be enhanced.
The program has implemented over 1,000 training on technology transfer, reaching 15,000 - 20,000 farmers. The courses are conducted from direct to indirect training via the online system.
Summarizing after one year of implementation, the program has contributed great benefits to the participating farmers. Productivity and profit increased significantly compared to traditional practices, gradually contributing to improving farmers' livelihood.
The number of spraying times is reduced (at least 1 time per crop), gradually minimizing the involvement of chemicals in the field. Production has become more friendly to the environment and farmers' health, ensuring agro-products quality and safety of use. Integrated farmers and surrounding farmers have gained access to an abundance of cultivation knowledge, presentation skills and practical agricultural services, directly serving production demands.
Many farmers in many areas have had timely access to the program thanks to the close cooperation of local TV stations spreading news and creating favorable conditions. On the other hand it is the active support of scientists and partners of VFC that has helped the program bring practical meaning and economic efficiency to farmers through production activities.
Sharing at the event, PAN Group General Director Nguyen Thi Tra My said, “With the ambition to contribute to the improvement of Vietnam's agriculture and food industry, PAN Group consistently pursues a sustainable development strategy, placing economic benefits in parallel with positive impacts on the environment - society - community. We always balance the interests of the group with the interests of employees, as well as other partners participating in the value chain. The interests of farmers are the real driving force behind the success of businesses.”
In the coming time Ms. Tra My will continue to promote more action programs and demonstrate the responsibility of businesses to the community and society such as the "Field of integration" program under the initiative of VFC. This is a program of practical significance in which VFC, together with strategic partners such as Syngenta, Corteva, scientists, and media agencies, work closely with farmers to build sustainable agriculture.
Upon making the closing speech at the event, VFC President Nguyen Bach Tuyet said that with the companion of PAN Group VFC will continue to implement and spread the program to bring more benefits to farmers and the nation’s agriculture. The effective connection between VFC and farmers is one of the five decisive factors for VFC’s sustainable development at present and in the future.
