Kien Giang Agricultural Extension Center in collaboration with Lan Anh Garment Embroidery Trading Co. Ltd held a conferrence to review the efficiency of the model using Phu sa Ri I organic ferilizer and Risopla II fertilizer on autumn-winter rice crop of 2024. The model was applied on the area of 2.6ha of Mr. Doan Tuan Hai household (Tan Hoa A village, Tan Hiep B commune, Tan Hiep, Kien Giang).

Farmers implement sophisticated rice cultivation strategies, including the use of a row-seeder machine to distribute at a low density, balanced fertilization, and integrated insect management, through their participation in the model. The fertilization process involves the application of Risopla II (foliar) and Phu Sa Ri I (soil) at a rate of 700ml of Risopla II (foliar) and 10kg of Phu Sa Ri I (soil) per hectare per crop cycle at a rate of Lan Anh Embroidery Trading Co., Ltd. In comparison to the control fields, this procedure reduces the quantity of chemical fertilizers by approximately 30%.

Based on the assessment, rice fields that were treated with Phù Sa Ri I and Risopla II organic fertilizers exhibited favorable growth and development, as well as robust tillering and a reduced incidence of pests and diseases. Consequently, the quantity of pesticide applications and labor required was reduced. Consequently, the rice yield increased by 0.1 tons compared to the control field, producing a total of 7 tons of fresh rice per hectare.

The selling price of the OM34 rice variety at the field was 6,500 VND/kg, and the farmers earned a profit of nearly 23.5 million VND/ha. This is approximately 2.4 million VND/ha more than the control field, as a result of the higher rice selling price and reduced investment costs (over 1 million VND/ha).

Dr. Le van Dung, the Deputy Director of the Kien Giang Agricultural Extension Center, evaluated that the demonstration model's outcomes, in conjunction with the coordination of seminars and field visits, will enhance farmers' assurance in the use of organic fertilizers in rice production. This will progressively motivate farmers to transition from chemical fertilizers to organic and bio-organic fertilizers, thereby leveraging technological advancements to enhance the quality of rice and foster sustainable development in accordance with green growth.
