"Discover American Taste" was held at MM Mega Market centres nationwide from August 3 to 17, introducing many American products and cuisines to Vietnamese consumers through 60 famous brands such as Heritage, Bristol, Hormel, Campbell, Heinz, Lay's, Budweiser, and Quaker... with promotions up to 30%.
This is the second year that the Foreign Agriculture Service of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA/FAS) cooperated with MM Mega Market Vietnam to organize the program "Discover American Taste".
According to Mr. Andrew Anderson, Senior Agricultural Attaché of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, more than 27 years since the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive relations, the United States is known as one of Vietnam's leading trade and investment partners.
In 2022, bilateral trade turnover between the two countries reached $ 123.91 billion, up 11% over the previous year. In which, the US is the second largest importer of Vietnamese products, and Vietnam is also the ninth largest market for US agricultural products, estimated at $ 3.9 billion.
On the first day of the opening of the program "Discover the American Taste", as noted by PV, there were a lot of consumers who came to choose fresh fruits such as cherries at a good price of VND 269,000/kg, instead of paying VND 300,000/kg as before. The 125g blueberries cost VND 59,000/box (the old price is nearly VND 70,000/box); the yellow potatoes cost VND 42,000/500gr, and the red potatoes cost VND 38,000/500gr...
Ms. Tran Kim Nga, External Affairs Director of MM Mega Market, said that American products, especially agricultural and food products, are being favored by the Vietnamese market. Consumption of imported goods from this market at MM Mega Market system increased by over 30% within the past 1 year. More and more businesses and manufacturers from the US are looking for sales opportunities in the Vietnamese market.
