After being assigned by the Central Party to be the Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, during his first work trip to Bach Long Vy island district, Mr. Tran Luu Quang discussed with officials and party members of the island district about short-term, long-term goals and plan to effectively implement the assigned tasks.
Accordingly, in the short term, Bach Long Vy district needs to gradually improve the quality of life of its people, officials, soldiers and fishermen, and gradually increase essential services, especially those that are missing.

On the other hand, a plan must be studied to attract more people from the mainland to move to the island, with people's life on the island needing more attention to be stable so they would not return to mainland.
In the long-term, Bach Long Vy island district needs consider three big goals, which are becoming a search and rescue center combined with a fishery logistics center, becoming a tourist destination combining experience and traditional tourism, and becoming a center for high-tech aquaculture.
"The basic principle is to build and promote the growth and development of Bach Long Vy island district, thereby affirming sustainable and long-term sovereignty over the sea and islands," Mr. Quang emphasized.
Mr. Quang also said that in the past, Bach Long Vy district has received the attention of the central city, has had significant development, changes in life, traffic... However, compared to other localities, the island district still faces many difficulties.
Therefore, in order to complete the assigned tasks, in the future, along with the efforts of Bach Long Vy district, Hai Phong City People's Committee and relevant departments will prioritize investments and appropriate additional resources.
Regarding the supply of clean water for the island, it should be implemented quickly, by mid-2022 at the latest. In terms of the environment, it is necessary to have an garbage incinerator in the island district...

It is also necessary to quickly adjust mechanisms and policies for those who live and work in the island district, and at the same time have an effective propaganda method so that Bach Long Vy island district can be dearer to the people.
