In the training session, the fishermen were briefed on the Vietnam Law of the Sea, the Fisheries Law of 2017, Prime Ministerial Dispatch No. 732 of May 28, 2017, regarding the prevention, minimization, and cessation of Vietnamese fishing vessels and fishermen's illegal exploitation of aquatic resources in foreign waters. Directive No. 45 of December 13, 2017, by the Prime Minister, concerning urgent tasks and solutions to address the European Commission's warning on combating IUU fishing; and Decree No. 42/2019/ND-CP, dated May 16, 2019, by the Government, stipulating administrative penalties for violations in the fisheries sector.
The border guard soldiers are disseminating legal education on preventing and combating IUU fishing at the anchorage area for sheltering from storms in Ben Loi - Binh Chau (Binh Chau commune, Xuyen Moc district).
