Total import and export trademark is estimated at $2.4 billion

(VAN) Over the past 2 months, import and export of goods through Lang Son started to increase, creating a favorable momentum for the last months of the year.

According to the report of Lang Son Department of Industry and Trade, from more than a month ago, at 3 border gates: Huu Nghi international border gate, Chi Ma bilateral border gate, and Tan Thanh border gate, more than 700 trucks of import and export goods are received every day on average. In which, about 300 vehicles transfer agro-products for export, mainly fresh fruit products such as jackfruit, dragon fruit, durian, and tapioca starch. They concentrated at Tan Thanh and Huu Nghi border gates, accounting for 60-70% of the total number of exporting vehicles.

To facilitate customs clearance of goods, the functional forces of border gate management have actively grasped the situation of goods clearance and epidemic prevention and control at the border gates. They also coordinate timely in carrying out foreign affairs to unify and remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of customs clearance of import and export goods. This also includes settling legitimate requests from China on epidemic prevention and control at the border gate area.

Since the beginning of the year, functional forces managing the border gate area of Lang Son province have held 19 talks. They also sent 40 working letters to Bang Tuong town and Ninh Minh district (China) to discuss the situation of customs clearance at the border gate and disease prevention.

Mr. Lieu Anh Minh, Deputy Director of Lang Son Department of Industry and Trade, said that in the first months of the year, the importing and exporting of goods through border gates in the province was almost frozen. Only from the end of April to the beginning of May has the customs clearance situation improved. This is after the agreement with China to deploy contactless delivery of goods at border gates. Starting from October, the capacity of customs clearance of import and export goods through border gates in the province increased over the same period last month.

Starting from October, the capacity of customs clearance of import and export goods through border gates in the province increased compared to the same period last month.

"Solutions to remove difficulties agreed between the two sides, including delivery methods or setting up a safe border gate for disease control, have helped import and export activities continue to be maintained", Mr. Lieu Minh Anh shared.

Huu Nghi international border gate currently has an average of 300 to 400 trucks of goods being received daily. To achieve this result, in addition to strictly implementing disease prevention and control, the functional forces of the border gate area have strengthened instructions for businesses and goods owners to pre-register the electronic declaration for quick and convenient customs clearance procedures. In addition, strengthens the arrangement of forces at key positions, creating favorable conditions for import and export activities to ensure security and order, and to regulate vehicles scientifically and reasonably. This will prevent congestion, creating favorable conditions for import and export activities as quickly as possible.

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Oanh, Hieu Huyen Trading and Production Company Limited, Hanoi said: "The Border Guard Customs Force continuously held talks and meetings to exchange the situation on import and export of goods. Gradually, the Chinese side has been more innovative when it comes to goods delivery. And on the most recent date, August 20, they agreed to let Chinese vehicles into Vietnam's delivery yard and no longer required the detachment of trailers like before. This is a great effort of the functional forces at the border gate. We have a lot of advantages in commodity trading with China”.

After 10 months of 2022, the total import-export turnover through border gates in Lang Son province is estimated at $2.4 billion, reaching 43.7% of the plan. Export is estimated at $685 million, reaching 32% of the plan; imports reached $1,720 billion, reaching 51.2% of the plan. Local exports alone reached $111 million, reaching 78.2% of the plan, up 7.8% over the same period.

Currently, the situation of importing and exporting goods through border gates in Lang Son province is stable and favorable. The amount of goods, especially agro-products exported from the provinces to Lang Son, has increased rapidly. According to statistics from the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son border gate economic zone, in the first 10 days of November, there were nearly 10,000 imported and exported goods passing through the area. Out of about 4,000 export trucks, nearly 3,000 are agro-products export trucks.

By the end of the year, the volume of goods exported through Lang Son province will continue to increase gradually. Lang Son province continues to actively grasp the situation of import and export of goods and new policies and measures of the Chinese side to promote customs clearance of goods and increase turnover in the last months of the year. This will promptly inform businesses, and promote import and export activities through border gates in Lang Son province.

Currently, in Lang Son province, there have been 5/12 border gates maintaining customs clearance of goods from Vietnam and ASEAN countries to Guangxi, China. They are the international border gates of Huu Nghi, Tan Thanh, Chi Ma, and Coc Nam and the international border gates of Dong Dang Station.
