On July 30, 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) sent Official Letter No.4815/BNN-CBTTNS to the provincial People's Committee of provinces and centrally-managed cities from Thua Thien Hue backward. In which, the MARD asked the People's Committees of the provinces and cities to direct the departments and agencies to implement the following contents:
First, organizing detailed review of the production situation, food demand, assessing the consumption of key agricultural products in localities on monthly basis from now until the end of 2021
Second, assessing the circulation of goods, agricultural materials in the context of the Covid-19 outbreak including materials used for agricultural production (crop cultivation, livestock and aquaculture production, forestry), processing and local consumption
Third, gathering, providing the list of agricultural hubs in the provinces and cities by group: food, vegetables and fruits, seafood, meat -egg- dairy products (with name, address, output by day and contact) to make plan for connecting agricultural supply and demand.
Forth, weekly updating information on difficulties, obstacles during localities implementing Directive No.16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and related directives
Fifth, assigning and appoint lead officers of localities including: name, position, work unit, address, email, phone number to report to the MARD's task force on the 24th of every month
The MARD committed to hold periodic online meetings with localities to assess the situation and at the same time organizing field trips in some localities to understand the actual situation, timely solve problems in order to ensure dual goal set by the Government.
Earlier, on July 30 Minister of the MARD Le Minh Hoan decided to form a task force to direct the activities related to agricultural production, connecting supply and demand to get agricultural products to the market in the Northern provinces and cities in the context of the Covid-19 outbreak. Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien will lead the task force.
The task force will help the MARD direct the production, connecting supply and demand to support the consumption of agricultural products within the sphere of the MARD. Specific tasks include coordinating with the Northern provinces and cities and relevant agencies to make plans for maintaining production activities in the localities that are implementing social distancing measures under Directive No.16/CT-TTg and other regulations of the Government.
