In November 2021, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province approved the investment policy for the high-tech pig farm project in Quang Son commune, Hai Ha district. By June 2023, the project met the legal requirements for construction investment. It is currently the largest high-tech livestock project in Quang Ninh, attracting significant investment and ranking among the largest in northern Vietnam.

Specifically, the Greentech high-tech pig farm project has a total investment of over 600 billion VND and is built on 45.2 hectares. Its designed capacity is to raise 5,000 sows, 20,000 weaned piglets, and 40,000 market pigs per batch, with 2-3 batches per year, utilizing advanced livestock technology and ensuring food safety.

The project's goal is to develop a closed-loop industrial pig farming model, from breeding production to raising pigs for commercial purposes, producing high-quality products that meet stringent standards for the market.

Additionally, the farm aims to lead in increasing land use efficiency, improving labor productivity, enhancing the natural environment, and reusing waste products for clean agricultural development.

This high-tech pig farming project features state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment, including an automated feeding and cooling system with equipment imported from Europe and fully hot-dip galvanized pig pen frames. The wastewater treatment system meets Class A standards, in compliance with regulation 62/2016 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the project also includes an investment in a clean water treatment station for domestic use and production. Furthermore, the farm is located 1.3 km from the nearest residential area.

Nguyen Huu Liem, Vice Chairman of Hai Ha District People's Committee, shared: "This is one of the investment projects funded by non-state budget sources. During the implementation process, the Greentech Livestock Joint Stock Company has received the attention, support, and cooperation of Quang Ninh province and Hai Ha district in overcoming issues related to land clearance. As a result, we were able to hand over the site to the contractor within just two months. To date, the contractor has completed the project's components."

After 14 months of construction, the project is now nearly complete. By the end of October 2024, Greentech Livestock Joint Stock Company will begin operations for the sow farming segment, and by mid-November, the company will continue with the operation of the commercial pig farming system.

Bui Van Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Greentech Livestock Joint Stock Company, stated: "We are very excited that the project has been completed on schedule, meeting the goals and requirements set by the shareholders. We particularly appreciate the contributions and leadership from the local authorities, and by the end of October, we will introduce livestock to begin operations at the farm."

The high-tech pig farm project by Greentech Livestock Joint Stock Company in Quang Son commune, Hai Ha district, not only plays a significant role in the local agricultural development but also contributes positively to the overall growth of Quang Ninh province's agricultural sector. It ensures the achievement of the province's GRDP growth target for the agricultural sector in 2024, aiming to exceed 4%.
