(VAN) While experience the green space of the Vietnamese countryside, visitors can explore Phu An bamboo village, the first bamboo ecosystem conservation area in Vietnam.

Phu An bamboo village was started construction in 2004 in Phu An commune, Ben Cat town and in 2008 began to be put into tourism service.

The gate to the village is made from very unique and simple bamboo material. From the outside, looking in, visitors will see a winding road shaded with bamboo, on both sides are rows of straight bamboo trees that look beautiful.

This place stores about 1,500 bamboo bushes with 300 bamboo samples, belonging to 17 varieties (accounting for 90% of Vietnam's bamboo varieties). Among them, there are many rare bamboo varieties such as giant bamboo, striped yellow bamboo, ivory... This is also considered the first green bamboo ecosystem conservation area in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia.

Phu An received the United Nations Equator Prize for biodiversity, serving community development, and responding to climate change in 2010, and was recognized as a member of the Association of Botanic Gardens of France since 2016.

At the museum, bamboo is planted according to the soil and climate of each species. Some varieties must be planted on high mounds, because they live in the plateau, and many bushes are planted around ponds and flooded swamps, because they are species that live in the plain.

Bamboo products always bring a unique cultural feature of Vietnamese people.

During the tour, visitors can visit a place selling handmade bamboo products. Traditional products with a light scent of bamboo, meticulously made such as sedge hats, bamboo baskets, fans...

Phu An Bamboo Village not only attracts science lovers to learn about research on the rich green bamboo ecosystem with diverse species, but also attracts many people who love nature and enjoy peaceful silence.

Bamboo has been associated with the Vietnamese people from ancient times to the present, from poems to victories in the resistance war. Moreover, it is also a beautiful memory for people who was born and raised in peaceful countryside.
