Three enterprises exporting the first batch of lychee of this year's harvest include Ameii Vietnam Joint Stock Company; Chanh Thu Fruit Import Export Company Limited and Global Fruit Import Export Joint Stock Company. It is expected that the export of the first batch of lychees from these enterprises will be about 15 tons, with cold storage for exports to Japan by air.
It is known that during the first purchase of this season, lychees in areas granted planting area codes, meeting Japan’s requirements are being purchased by export businesses in the range of VND 22-30 thousand/kg, VND 7 to 10 thousand/kg higher than consumption in the domestic market.
According to the Plant Protection Department, the first batches exported to Japan will be fumigated with Methyl Bromide, as requested by the Japanese side, at the sauna treatment facility of Global Food Import-Export JSC (Global Company, Phuong Son commune, Luc Ngan, Bac Giang). This is a fumigation facility that has been inspected and recognized by the Plant Protection Department as well as the Japanese phytosanitary agency, meeting the Japanese side’s technical requirements.
In order to ensure the most favorable lychee export in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Plant Protection Department will deploy personnel and equipment for the supervision, sampling, inspection, phytosanitary, and issuance of phytosanitary certificate on the spot (at the sauna facility of the Global Company).
Regarding the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Plant Protection Department, in collaboration with Bac Giang province, has closely arranged epidemic prevention measures according to the 5K principle, early coordinated with the locality to create conditions not only for the work of the Plant Protection Department but also to facilitate the purchasing, processing, exports of exporting enterprises along with logistics activities.
The Plant Protection Department also regularly cooperates with the Electromechanical Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology Institute (MARD) to operate and deploy technological chains for pre-processing and post-harvest preservation in the best way for exporting enterprises with the goal of both fighting against the epidemic and not disrupting the harvesting, purchasing and exporting of lychees in the 2021 harvest.
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic situation, the phytosanitary officers of the Plant Protection Department will stay in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang) to support, supervise and carry out phytosanitary procedures not only for export to the Japan market but also other markets such as China, USA, Australia, ASEAN countries... until the end of this year's lychee harvest.
It has been known that the results of negotiations on phytosanitary procedures and regulations are the constant work of the Plant Protection Department with the Japanese side, and have been continuously notified and updated to localities and businesses. The questions from enterprises, localities, and coordinating units have been summarized and detailed by the Plant Protection Department, so up to now, the export deployment has not met any obstacle.
In Hai Duong, the first export shipments of lychee took place smoothly and successfully customs cleared, officially at present in the Japan market since May 23rd. Currently, there are 5 batches of Hai Duong lychee exported to Japan by air, with a volume of about 7-8 tons...
The quality of lychee in the Japan market is highly appreciated by customers to be better than last year. All shipments of Hai Duong lychees exported to Japan are quarantined by fumigation at the Plant Protection Department’s treatment area in Hanoi.
