On the morning of November 30, Minister Le Minh Hoan, accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, conducted a visit and inspection of the preparation tasks for the 2023 Vietnam International Rice Festival in Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang province. Additionally, a meeting of the Steering Committee for the 2023 Vietnam International Rice Festival - Hau Giang was organized.

According to the on-site inspection, the preparation tasks for the Vietnam International Rice Festival are progressing with great urgency. Exhibition areas, product showcases, the rice path, and other related setups have been diligently established, and the reception of goods and exhibits is currently underway.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with its affiliated units, has actively coordinated with the Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to discuss and implement the preparation tasks for the Festival. In addition, the Ministry will conduct a series of international workshops and rice demonstrations.

The Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee will host an exhibition showcasing the rice path to outline the four developmental stages of rice production, display OCOP products, and present digital transformations in agriculture.

Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper has cooperated in producing a documentary titled "The New Path of Rice" and a publication titled "The Path of Innovation for Sustainability and Prosperity" to serve communication purposes for the Festival.

The Festival must be organized with professionalism and effectiveness to highlight the value of the Vietnamese rice industry and the Vietnamese rice brand, accentuated by the "Journey of a Thousand Years of Vietnamese Rice." It will also showcase the cultural images of the people in the Mekong Delta region and, more broadly, the nation of Vietnam, in close association with the rice civilization.

The festival activities aim to promote Vietnamese rice to both domestic and international partners, as well as to boost tourism in Hau Giang province. The event also seeks to facilitate cooperation agreements among businesses and memoranda of understanding between countries and rice-related businesses.

In his assessment of Hau Giang province's preparation for the Festival, Minister Le Minh Hoan emphasized the need to transform the square area into the central hub for rice, where all Vietnamese rice varieties, and the cultural image of Hau Giang's traditional bamboo flute will be showcased. Furthermore, the focus must be placed on exhibition efforts to emphasize the square area as a central hub connecting all festival activities. With the organization of the Festival, Hau Giang province aims to become a symbol of the Vietnamese rice industry.

"The Festival holds significant importance, as it is directly related to the Vietnamese rice industry. Consequently, thorough and well-executed preparations are necessary. It is essential to foster a sense of community responsibility and work together according to a unified program, without differentiation between tasks assigned to the Ministry or the province," directed Minister Le Minh Hoan.

The Vietnamese rice map will be installed at the end of the exhibition area under the theme "The Path of Vietnamese Rice" - one of the main activities of the 2023 Vietnam International Rice Festival.

According to the organizing plan of the 2023 Vietnam International Rice Festival established by the Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnamese rice map will be 9 meters high and 3 meters wide.

Accordingly, the organizing committee will collect specialty rice from all 63 provinces and cities nationwide in order to create the Vietnamese rice map. Upon completion, the Vietnam Guinness Records Organization will be invited to establish a record.

The Vietnamese rice map promises to be an impressive and interesting attraction at the 2023 Vietnam International Rice Festival. The map will be open for public visits starting from December 11, 2023. Additionally, the Vietnam Guinness Records Organization will be invited to establish a record on December 13, 2023.
