Lam Dong People's Committee recently directs People's Committees of districts and cities on forest management, protection and development. Accordingly, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province requested the People's Committees of districts, Da Lat City and Bao Loc City to drastically direct the departments and units under it, commune-level authorities and relevant functional agencies to focus on strengthening inspection and effective implementation of forest management and protection, forest fire prevention, and forest development.
It is necessary to strengthen the management and protection of forests, to prevent deforestation and encroachment on forest land.
The provincial People's Committee also requested localities to urgently review violation records to handle them by regulations; coordinate and support forest and forest development investment project owners in the locality in forest management, protection, and forest fire prevention; inspect the implementation of enterprises according to the approved plan/project content; promptly suspend and handle violations according to their competence or report and propose to competent authorities to handle violations by regulations.
At the same time, expeditiously investigate and complete records of handling of violations of the Forest Law that have been detected by functional forces and reported by media agencies; organize a mobile trial to create a deterrent, forbidding a hot spot for violations of the Forest Law in the area.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of MARD to focus on directing and urging: Forest rangers shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with functional forces and forest owner units in, focusing on inspecting and preventing violations of the Law on Forestry; strengthen coordination in inspection at forests, restaurants, catering businesses, and tourist attractions to promptly detect and strictly handle violations of the law on protection of wild animals.
