Release two rare monkeys back to Chu Mom Ray National Park

(VAN) Two monkey individuals belonging to a rare animal group have been released back into the nature at Chu Mom Ray National Park.

On July 1st, Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy, Director of the Management Board of Chu Mom Ray National Park (Kon Tum province) stated that after being raised by the people, two monkey individuals had been returned to the natural environment.

To be more specific, on the afternoon of June 30th, the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Ecotourism (Management Board of Chu Mom Ray National Park) has coordinated with the Forest Protection Department of Dak Ha district and Sa Thay district to organize the release of two rare monkey individuals back to the natural environment at Chu Mom Ray National Park.

These are individual monkey infants, and they are both females. Particularly, one is a red-faced monkey individual and the other is pig-tailed macaque individual which belong to endangered and rare forest animals of the IIB group.

The two monkey individuals quickly fit in and adapt to the natural environment.

Previously, these two monkey individuals were discovered by Mr. G.L.T.N. (residing in Dak Ha town, Dak Ha district) while going to the forest and brought it home to take care of. At that time, the two individuals were still young, one red-faced monkey individual was injured and lost its tail.

After receiving information, the Forest Protection Department of Dak Ha district came to propagandize Mr. G.L.T.N. to voluntarily release the two monkey individuals. After that, the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Ecotourism came down to receive them to take care of. Up until now, the two monkey individuals are healthy, weighing 2.2kg each.
