To remove difficulties and support farmers to consume agricultural products, Quang Ninh province has diversified channels to boost the consumption of local agriculture products.

The Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee has asked agencies, units, political and social organisations to join in boosting the consumption of local agricultural products.

Organisations and people are called on to give priority to having local agricultural products of the province in their meals, particularly collective canteens.

The province’s Department of Industry and Trade has been coordinating with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, the Management Board of the Economic Zone in promoting products to industrial parks, units, enterprises, agencies and unions in the province.

At the same time, trade centres and wholesale markets developed plans on consuming local agricultural products.

The province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade and People's Committees of localities, especially areas with large agricultural output and large producers to develop schemes for processing and preserving agricultural products.

Joint efforts have generated fruitful results. Accumulated from September 15 to October 30, 2021, Quang Ninh province’s authorities have helped farmers/producers to consume over 15,000 tons of local aquatic products in domestic and foreign markets.

For example,  285 tons of grouper, worth over VND42 trillion were sold including  165 tons sold outside the province, 14.8 tons sold for Hong Hanh Restaurant, 7.5 tons for State offices and over 5.2 tons through seafood stalls at sales weeks and markets in localities in the province.

They also helped consume nearly 134 tons of other types of fish with a value of about VND14 trillion, through seafood stalls at sales weeks, markets in localities in the province and traditional consumption channels.

In addition, Quang Ninh authorities have been assisting farming households to put agricultural products on the e-commerce platforms, contributing to promoting consumption and stabilizing production.

At the end of July 2021, Dong Trieu Town is the first locality in the province to build an e-commerce platform https://dongtrieumart.vn with basic features and similar to other major exchanges such as Sendo, Lazada, Tiki, Voso or Cuccu.

Here, organisations and individuals are instructed and supported to set up online stores to sell goods and services.

More than 100 tons of custard apple and many other local agricultural products have been sold at dongtrieumart.vn. Currently, the e-commerce floor continues to improve the quality, create more apps on mobile applications, organise training for people and production teams.

Recently, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province issued a plan to support the introduction of agricultural products on the e-commerce platforms postmart.vn and voso.vn. Accordingly, the province will support agricultural production households participating in the floors to connect, promote and introduce products.

On that basis, production households will be guided and trained in digital skills, skills to participate in activities in the digital environment, how to register for an account, a booth account to operate on the trading floor or an online payment account. At the same time, online sellers are instructed the process of packaging - connection - delivery.

The goal is that by the end of 2021, all of Quang Ninh province's OCOP ( One Commune – One Product programme) products with three stars or more will be listed on the e-commerce platforms postmart vn and voso.vn. By the end of 2022, all of the standard OCOP products will be listed on the floors. This is an important solution that not only promotes the consumption of agricultural products through online sales channels, expanding the market, but also promotes the development of the agricultural digital economy.
