On October 20, at Yang Bay Tourism Park (Khanh Hoa), Khanh Viet Corporation (Khatoco) organized the "Culinary Festival - Delicacies from Ostrich Meat" competition to celebrate Vietnam Women's Day.
The event provided visitors with a unique culinary experience featuring Khatoco ostrich meat as the main ingredient, a nutritious food that is increasingly popular.
Khatoco ostrich meat is widely known for its high quality, superior nutritional value, and safety in production. Khatoco operates the largest ostrich farm system in Vietnam, with a total flock of over 12,000 birds, supplying about 8,000 chicks, 300 tons of meat, and thousands of ostrich hides to the leather industry annually.
Khatoco ostrich meat products are produced in a closed-loop process, from breeding, raising, and processing to product distribution. Every step is strictly controlled to ensure food safety standards according to ISO 22000:2018.
This year's competition attracted 15 teams with 60 amateur chefs from Khatoco affiliates and partner units. In 90 minutes, each team, consisting of four members, prepared three dishes using Khatoco ostrich meat, including fillet, thigh meat, ostrich stomach, wings, neck, heart, and ostrich toes.

The judges of the competition were top chefs and culinary experts in Khanh Hoa, including: Master Chef and Culinary Expert Nguyen Van Hoang, a lecturer in culinary techniques at Nha Trang College of Tourism; Mrs. Hoang Thi Anh Tuyet, Vice President of the World Super Chefs Association in Vietnam and Director of HT Chef Vocational Culinary Center; and Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Executive Chef of Amiana Resort and Vice President of the Nha Trang Professional Chefs Association.
The festival not only provided an exciting playground for teams to create new and nutritious dishes but also offered visitors the chance to explore unique flavors from this nutritious ingredient.
At the festival, guests could enjoy delicious and nutritious dishes made from ostrich meat, participate in cooking experiences with the teams, and personally create innovative dishes using ostrich meat.
Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the ostrich farming process— the largest bird in the world— as well as the tanning process and the production of fashion products made from Khatoco ostrich leather.

At the end of the competition, the organizers awarded one first prize, one second prize, two third prizes, three encouragement prizes, and two special prizes for the best presentation and the best-decorated dish, with a total prize value of VND 40 million.
Mr. Tran Minh Quang, General Director of Khanh Viet Corporation, stated that ostrich meat has a very good nutritional content and cholesterol level. Therefore, Khatoco is building a large plan to introduce ostrich meat to the market and make it widely known.
“In the near future, the company will create differentiated products made from ostrich meat for specific markets, including ostrich meat for pregnant women, men, herbal products, and general consumption”, Mr. Quang added.
At the “Gastronomy Festival - Delicious Dishes from Ostrich Meat,” in addition to rich culinary experiences, visitors had the chance to admire the pristine, peaceful natural beauty of Yang Bay Tourist Park. Notably, visitors could relax in the natural hot mineral springs, enjoy the magnificent Yang Bay waterfall, participate in fun folk games, and take plenty of photos at Yang Bay.
