Trang Linh Co., Ltd (Trang Hoang Hamlet, Bong Trang Commune, Xuyen Moc District) is the first unit in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to be recognized as a high-tech agricultural enterprise. The company's main field of operation is pig breeding with an area of over 70 ha, more than 200 employees, raising animals using high technology. Trang Linh also produces organic fertilizers, grows clean vegetables in nethouses and raises freshwater fish on its own farm.
After conducting careful calculations, Trang Linh has built a system of reservoirs, ponds and settling tanks to serve production without using groundwater. This is also one of the sustainable directions that Trang Linh is taking to protect the environment.
“By utilizing biotechnology, pigs do not come into contact with water at all, thus avoiding risks of disease as well as saving on labor, electricity, water and vaccine costs. Biological bedding is made from rice husks and probiotics, helping to treat solid waste during the livestock farming process completely. This bedding is later turned into 100% organic microbial fertilizer, helping to increase the added value of agro-products,” said Pham Truong Giang, Director of Trang Linh Co., Ltd.
The farm is maintaining approximately 3,600 sows and 100,000 pigs, mainly sold to Massan Group. Trang Linh's livestock output is making a significant contribution to the livestock industry structure of Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
Pham Van Lam, Farm Manager at Trang Linh Co., Ltd, said, “The farming process combined with modern technology, so the rate of pigs with infectious diseases and bacteria is extremely low. The quality and productivity of the company's pigs have constantly increased through the generations. Our partners also assess the pigs as being healthier, tastier and more profitable”.
Trang Linh is proactive in terms of local breeding stock, ensuring continuous and safe herd restoration without dependence or disruption from partners. This closed on-site breeding procedure is also one of the measures that helps the company’s farm always “stand firm” against African swine fever outbreaks.
Trang Linh Co., Ltd is recently honored by the Department of Livestock Production as a typical enterprise in the field of Livestock Waste Treatment and Management Technology at Vietstock Awards 2024. This is a recognition of the livestock industry for Trang Linh's application of modern technologies in waste treatment and disease control for its livestock herds.
According to Pham Truong Giang, Director of Trang Linh Co., Ltd, the company is determined to apply scientific and technological advances to help people optimize the steps in animal health care and environmental protection.
While it is a concentrated livestock farm, Trang Linh’s pigs are allowed to run and play freely. They also show their inherent behaviors almost like being raised in a natural environment. During the raising process, the pigs' emotional conditions are closely monitored by workers. Any pigs showing unusual signs are handled appropriately. Thanks to paying attention to animal welfare, the pigs here are always healthy and less susceptible to diseases, gain weight quickly, and have delicious meat quality.
Trang Linh is currently using a “vaccine gun” (needle-free injection machine) to bring efficiency and secure animal welfare. This technology is evaluated to help increase the rate of disease prevention, and reduce the risk of stress due to fewer injections and less required time. Not only do animals benefit from this, but maintenance and operation costs are also optimized.
In terms of solid waste treatment, Trang Linh is taking advantage of the by-product to produce organic fertilizer. The company has then created a large amount of microbial organic fertilizer to help plants grow stably, and increase productivity while also nurturing the soil and creating conditions for microorganisms to grow. The company is even providing this fertilizer line to farmers in the area and neighboring localities.
