According to Mr. Le Toan, Director of Phu Tho province's Agricultural Extension Center, the digital transformation in agriculture is considered an effective solution in solving problems of quality management of agricultural products.
Advanced technology will help production units record and store information on production processes, standards, certificates, certifications, etc., in a public and transparent manner, effectively supporting management agencies to capture data quickly.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Phu Tho Agricultural Extension Center, has developed a plan to implement the model "Digital transformation in agriculture in 2021" with the content of building, completing, and using the software system. Production management and traceability software for agricultural products for mobile devices.
Mr. Le Toan shared: The software system for production management and traceability of agricultural products was built in 2018, operating through the website: http://nongsanantoanphutho.vn. However, to be convenient in use and meet the increasing requirements of new tasks, Phu Tho Agricultural Extension has coordinated with relevant units to build and put the application into use. Agritech - digital agricultural chain" for mobile devices.
According to Mr. Toan, the Agritech app has been fully integrated with features. It can be considered a "breakthrough step," bringing benefits to many users such as producers, consumers, quarantine agencies, etc.
Specifically, each farm, cooperative, agricultural production facility... is granted an account on the application (which has been appraised). The app is divided into specialized modules such as Cultivation, livestock, fisheries, forestry, processing ... Users base on the product of their unit to update data continuously.
With the information entered, account holders can register to print product traceability stamps with the management agency conveniently and quickly. In addition, the app is linked with e-commerce platforms such as Viettel Post, Voso... so all product information will be automatically updated by platforms.
Phu Tho province's Agricultural Extension Center has provided accounts, installation support, and direct user manuals for 50 units and granted 142,000 stamps and 20,000 labels of traceability of agricultural products to participating units.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Minh, Director of Bang Luan Specialty Grapefruit Business and Production Service Cooperative, Bang Luan Commune (Doan Hung, Phu Tho), a unit participating in the sharing app, when joining the app, users only need to spend a little time on the phone, but the benefits are many times greater.
The app helps the quarantine work of Phu Tho Sub-Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine to shorten the time, cost, and effort for the quarantine team and the quarantine team production facility owner and business while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
Specifically, the Phu Tho Agricultural Extension Center coordinated with the Phu Tho Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sub-Department to issue codes and print stamps according to the list registered by the quarantine. The quarantine will be present at the place of shipment, check, input data in real-time on the app, stamp and untie the door seal of the trunk. When the truck passes through the quarantine checkpoints, the inspector only needs to scan the code on the seal to check information about the shipment such as origin, owner of the consignment, place of departure, destination, item intended use...
According to Mr. Le Toan, Director of Phu Tho Agricultural Extension Center, in 2021, Phu Tho province's agricultural extension successfully implemented the central agricultural extension project "Building a model of intensive pomelo cultivation associated with product consumption in Phu Tho province. Longevity period 2020 - 2022".
2021 is the second year Phu Tho implemented the project with 14 participating households, on an area of 9ha in Bang Luan, Chi Dam, Chan Mong communes (Doan Hung district), Dong Trung commune (Thanh Thuy district), Phuc commune Khanh (Yen Lap district).
Households participating in the project will be supported with fertilizers (microorganic fertilizers, NPK, foliar fertilizers...), soybeans, bags, pesticides, and technical instructions and methods of using different types in intensive care pomelo trees.
Over implementation, pomelos grow well, are less susceptible to pests and diseases, fruit products are of high quality, pomelo yield is 15-17% higher than outside the model. The average weight of pomelo in the model was uniform and increased more than that of the outside model from 2.4 - 3.7%.
Mr. Dang Trung Kien, zone 4, Dong Trung commune, Thanh Thuy district, has 1 hectare of pomelo growing, participating in the sharing model: When participating in the project, his family is supported 70% of the cost of organic fertilizers, soybeans, and microbiological processing products, pesticides, etc. As a result, the total investment cost is reduced by 30% per hectare, the yield, and quality of pomelos increase, so the selling price also increases.
"Previously, pomelos were only sold for VND 15,000 per fruit, but when cultivated by new methods of design, the sweetness and natural aroma of pomelos increased, so the selling price also increased to VND 20,000 per fruit", Mr. Kien shared.
According to Phu Tho Agricultural Extension Center statistics, after two years of implementation, all households participating in the project expressed their desire to expand the area of applying advanced measures of intensive pomelo cultivation in association with product consumption. Besides realizing the effectiveness, many neighboring pomelo growers actively sought out models to visit and learn techniques. It is predicted that replicating the project will be very high in the upcoming future.
