Pesticide imports maintain its strong increase

(VAN)- Pesticide imports into Vietnam still increased sharply in the first months of this year. Imported pesticides are still mainly from China.

According to the General Department of Customs, in the first two months of 2021, the import turnover of pesticides reached more than US$ 117.02 million, up 26.5% over the same period in 2020.

Pesticides and raw materials are imported mainly from the China's market, accounting for 42% of the country’s total import turnover of this commodity group, with over US$ 49.11 million, 11% higher compared to the same period last year.

The India's market is behind the China's market with 14.3%, reaching US$ 16.72 million, up 42.8%. Next is the Singapore market, reaching 12.35 million, up 180% over the same period last year, accounting for 10.6% of the total import turnover of pesticides.
