The groundbreaking event of the food manufacturing plant not only marked an important milestone, but also affirmed the strong and trustworthy cooperative relationship between PepsiCo Foods and the Government of Vietnam. The event also demonstrates PepsiCo Foods' position as a reputable foreign investment partner, always accompanying Vietnam on the path to achieving national development goals.
The factory was built in the expanded Dong Van I Industrial Park (Duy Tien town) with a total area of 80,000m², capacity of more than 20,000 tons of snacks/year. It is expected that the factory will be completed in the third quarter of 2025 and become a key production center of PepsiCo Foods in Vietnam.
When put into operation, the factory will create many jobs in the fields of production, logistics, packaging and agriculture...Pepsico Vietnam also plans to expand raw material areas in Ha Nam and the Northern provinces by regenerative agriculture and digital technology.
With the expectation of contributing to the country's socio-economic development, PepsiCo Foods, through this milestone, will support Vietnamese farmers to apply sustainable agricultural methods, implement the global PepsiCo Positive (pep+) strategy towards achieving 100% sustainable supply and promote regenerative agriculture by 2030.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Ha, General Director of PepsiCo Vietnam Foods Company said: "Investing in Ha Nam province is an affirmation of our belief in the dynamic economy and people here. The new factory demonstrates a commitment to long-term investment and a desire to contribute to the country's sustainable development. The factory strives to exceed production capacity goals. We want to build a sustainable ecosystem, bringing benefits to consumers, partners and the environment, as well as a community with good and sustainable common values.
PepsiCo's new factory uses renewable energy, including rooftops equipped with solar panels and a biomass system that utilizes local agricultural waste to produce electricity. Thanks to that, PepsiCo Foods significantly reduces carbon emissions, minimizing impact on the environment", Mr. Nguyen Viet Ha shared.
Currently PepsiCo Foods Vietnam is also collaborating with the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development of Ha Nam province, local agricultural cooperatives and farmers to implement regenerative agricultural practices, improve soil health, reduce carbon emissions and optimize crop yields. This initiative affirms PepsiCo Foods' pioneering role in building sustainable agriculture, contributing to improving the lives of farmers in Ha Nam and the Northern provinces.
Speaking at the factory construction groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Truong Quoc Huy - Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "The groundbreaking ceremony of PepsiCo Foods Vietnam's new factory in Ha Nam contributes to realizing the goal of helping Ha Nam become a modern industrial province by 2025. The province is ready to support businesses to facilitate factory construction, industrial and agricultural economic development and support services with the desire to bring benefits to businesses, Ha Nam province and Vietnam in general. At the same time, Ha Nam province wants the company to focus on training high-quality labor resources, along with modern, environmentally friendly technology and creating quality products for consumers".
On this occasion, PepsiCo Vietnam company leaders announced sponsorship of the following programs: "Supporting sustainable agricultural value chains" and "Improving skills and labor quality of Ha Nam youth" sponsored by PepsiCo Foundation.
With the start of construction of the factory in Ha Nam, PepsiCo affirms its commitment to contributing to Vietnam's development. This investment marks a major milestone in the company's three-decade presence in the country, setting a benchmark for ethical and sustainable business practices in the food and beverage industry.
