According to Mr Bui Van Sang, Deputy General Director of Nha Ho Seed Joint Stock Company based in Ninh Thuan province, in 2021, the company built two organic green asparagus production models. With a scale of 19 hectares, fresh asparagus products in the model meet VietGAP standards and move towards the organic farming model.
To equip farmers with the proper knowledge to implement the model, the company organised two training courses with the participation of 40 people.
In addition, farmers participating in the model can guide others to follow the correct technical process.
Households participating in the model were trained, exchanged information, equipped with both theoretical and practical knowledge on applying high technology to intensive green asparagus cultivation techniques in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces. People in neighbouring provinces also visited to learn about the model and exchange experiences.
The Nha Ho Seed Joint Stock Company helped consume more than half of the asparagus produced in the model.
Profit from the organic asparagus production model is VND200 million/ha/year, much higher than other crops.
