According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) released the list of 697 qualified seafood enterprises, saying the permission was effective from February, 23.
TFDA’s document said as Vietnamese seafood products have not been evaluated or tested by TFDA system, they only accept seafood products that have ever been exported to Taiwan. The enterprises on the list were one allowed to export seafood to Taiwan before.
At the same time, TFDA said they would continue to check each batch of Vietnamese oysters exported to Taiwan until June 20, 2021 due to the detection of norovirus.
According to the General Department of Customs, last year, seafood export to Taiwan reached US$120 million.
