Vietnam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper (VAN News) carries a vital mission: to reflect, promote, and guide sustainable development in agriculture, rural areas, natural resources, and the environment. It serves as an official information channel, linking state management agencies with experts, scientists, businesses, and farmers. On this occasion, on behalf of the Ministry’s leadership, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to all leaders, cadres, editors, reporters, and staff of VAN News.
VAN News was founded by merging and inheriting the traditions of two newspapers: Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, the successor of Tac Dat Newspaper, which was named by Uncle Ho in 1945, and Resources and Environment Newspaper, established in 2005. This merger demonstrates innovative thinking in press development and management, addressing new communication demands in two closely related fields that have a profound impact on resource utilization, socio-economic growth, and people's well-being.
At this new stage of national development, agriculture, rural areas, natural resources, and the environment continue to serve as a vital foundation, a national strength, and a major resource for driving socio-economic progress, protecting the environment, and adapting to climate change. Therefore, unlocking resources, creating new momentum and development space, and advancing towards a green, circular, and sustainable economy to strengthen Vietnam’s global standing is a shared responsibility of the entire agricultural and environmental sector.
Carrying that noble mission, VAN News must constantly innovate and enhance its quality, both in content and presentation, moving toward a professional, modern, and humane style fit for the digital age. It must fully leverage technological advances to broaden access, diversify communication across digital and multimedia platforms, and boost interaction with readers and the public. Improving the quality of news articles, refreshing the way information is delivered, and integrating traditional and electronic journalism with social media and visual communication will help the Newspaper reach a broader audience, especially young people, businesses, and farmers.
To fulfill the mission of bringing the Party's guidelines and policies, and conveying the State’s and the Ministry’s laws and policies accurately and promptly to people across the country and around the world, VAN News must build on its proud tradition. With a team of reporters and editors who show strong political will, uphold professional ethics, and demonstrate high expertise, I firmly believe that VAN News will excel in its assigned mission. It will stand side by side with the entire sector, working toward the goal of building agroecology, modern rural areas, and a civilized farming community. Together, we will move into a new era of development, where "Economy - Society - Environment" lies at the heart, for a green future and a sustainably developing Vietnam.
On the occasion of the launch of the first issue of VAN News, once again, on behalf of the Party Committee and the leadership of Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, I wish all cadres, editors, reporters, and staff good health, happiness, and great success. I encourage you to carry forward the proud tradition, build on the glorious achievements of previous generations, and turn Agriculture and Environment Newspaper into a prestigious, specialized press agency. With determination and a spirit of innovation and creativity, I am confident you will complete your mission excellently and make a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of the agriculture and environment sectors.
