Many machines make their debut at the AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 Exhibition

(VAN) AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 is expected to gather many new types of machinery, provide technological solutions and promote supply-demand connections in agricultural development.

Promising a breakthrough in agricultural mechanization

At a press conference held on December 12 to announce the AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 exhibition, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Agricultural Newspaper, shared that after the successful AGRITECHNICA ASIA agricultural mechanization exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand, in May 2024, the AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 exhibition will be held for the first time in Vietnam. The event's theme is "Promoting Green Initiatives in Southeast Asia".

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, mechanization plays a crucial role in the process of modernizing agriculture, especially as Vietnam strives toward a sustainable, efficient production model with reduced emissions.

At the same time, enhancing the skills of farmers is an indispensable element in this process. When farmers gain access to new technologies, they become more confident in applying innovative approaches to their production methods. This, in turn, leads to improved productivity, higher quality products, and increased competitiveness in the market.

Furthermore, to promote the overall development of the agricultural sector, the connection between the "four houses" – government authorities, businesses, scientists and farmers – is extremely important.

Mr. Peter Grothues, a member of the Market Council at the German Agricultural Association (DLG), shared that DLG has accumulated more than 130 years of experience in establishing platforms for agricultural markets. The organization's work focuses on key areas, including fostering knowledge exchange among market participants, promoting innovations in technology, farm management methods, and best farming practices, as well as conducting tests on agricultural machinery, tools and food products.

Representatives from DLG also mentioned that the AGRITECHNICA event, held biennially in Hannover, Germany, is one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the world, attracting over 2.800 exhibitors and nearly 500.000 visitors from all corners of the globe. Recognizing the immense potential of Vietnam's agricultural sector, DLG has decided to bring this prestigious event to Vietnam.

The AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 exhibition will be held from March 12 to 14 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

The AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 exhibition will be held from March 12 to 14 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

In response to the challenges facing the agricultural sector, AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 will play a crucial role as a key platform to rapidly advance agricultural mechanization and foster innovation within Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.

Furthermore, according to the event organizers, the exhibition will focus on several core areas, including agricultural mechanization, digital farming practices, and resource-efficient solutions for major crops such as rice, fruits, corn, cassava, sugarcane and coffee. These fields will feature the latest and most advanced technologies from leading companies in the industry, such as AGCO (Massey Ferguson), CLAAS, Fimaks and XAG.

In addition to the exhibition itself, AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 will provide a robust platform for knowledge exchange, with a series of conferences, seminars and specialized workshops. These sessions will feature over 60 expert speakers, bringing valuable insights and the latest developments in agricultural technology.

The various sessions at AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 will tackle the significant challenges and opportunities facing the region, with valuable input from renowned organizations such as the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany (BMEL), GIZ, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the United Nations Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization Center (UNESCAP).

This year’s theme, emphasizing sustainable and efficient farming, will draw attention to key agricultural trends that are gaining momentum worldwide, such as precision farming, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, artificial intelligence (AI), drone technology, smart sensors and automated irrigation systems. When implemented correctly, these cutting-edge technologies have the potential to significantly boost agricultural productivity, minimize waste and improve soil health assessments. They also play a vital role in reducing the need for excessive farm inputs in the future.

"As a central hub for agricultural innovation in Southeast Asia, AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 is set to be a game-changing event. It promises to create vast opportunities for business growth, facilitate knowledge exchange among industry stakeholders, and accelerate the progress of technology in the agricultural sector", Mr. Peter Grothues highlighted.

Opportunity to access new technology

Sharing about the standout technical solutions to be showcased at AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025, Mr. Nguyen Trung Anh, Business Director at GoldMax Co., Ltd. (AGCO Group), mentioned that the company will debut the 5M tractor in the Asian market for the first time. The tractor will come in two versions: one with a canopy and one with a cabin, catering to various needs depending on weather conditions.

The 5M tractor is equipped with a powerful, fuel-efficient engine that helps farmers reduce costs. Additionally, it features smart steering system technology, which enhances precision and operational efficiency.

Furthermore, the tractor is integrated with a remote monitoring system, which provides users with better management capabilities. The 5M tractor is designed to serve various sectors, including rubber cultivation (such as land preparation, hole digging, fertilizing and leaf spreading), sugarcane (land preparation, fertilization, planting and transportation), cassava (land preparation, transportation and planting), and dairy farming (convenient feed distribution).

The tractor is highly adaptable, capable of working efficiently on a wide range of terrains, from flat landscapes to hilly or mountainous regions. This versatility makes it an ideal solution for farming and livestock operations, significantly enhancing productivity while also reducing the amount of physical labor required.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Vinh, Director of Minh Vi Advertising and Exhibition Services Co., Ltd. – the organizer of AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025, expects the event to attract around 15.000 visitors.

This event provides a valuable opportunity for new agricultural technologies to reach Vietnamese producers, encouraging innovation and advancement within the agricultural sector. It will serve as a catalyst for promoting creative solutions and improvements in farming practices across the region.

"Visitors attending AGRITECHNICA ASIA VIETNAM 2025 will have the chance to explore a wide range of business opportunities and establish collaborations with potential partners. Furthermore, they will be able to explore the latest global agricultural technologies right here in Vietnam, allowing them to compare innovations from various countries to find the products that best meet their specific needs", Mr. Nguyen Ba Vinh shared during the press conference.
