Hundreds of focal points providing agricultural products and foods have registered for consumption with Working Group 970.

These focal points include: 212 vegetable points; 192 fruit points; 327 seafood points; 38 food points; 33 points for other items. The focal points provide a wide variety of goods. On August 4th, 163 focal points have sent information to Working Group 970.

The impact from two webinars connecting supply and demand for crop products (249 participants), livestock and fishery products (278 participants) was great. The working group connected 2 large orders of seafood.

The first order is 1,000 tons of assorted seafood and has been distributed to seafood suppliers in 7 provinces registered through Working Group 970 and the order will be purchased by the parties within 10 days.

The second order by an enterprise requested Working Group 970 to find partners in the provinces for long-term contracts with monthly purchase: 985 tons of pangasius, 73 tons of tuna, 9 containers of tilapia and persimmon, 5 containers of crayfish, 2 containers of processed frog legs, 3 containers of black tiger shrimp and white shrimp, 2 containers of squid and octopus, 1 container of dried anchovies.

These are very large orders, the purchasing standards are also high as well as the fines for quality violations, so the Working Group has worked with the People's Committees of some provinces and districts with supply while also ensuring long-term chain-linked enterprises.

Moreover, companies are interested in consulting information on connecting to build sustainable production material areas to adapt to the impact of Covid 19 such as advising businesses in the eel industry in Hau Giang, 5,700 ha of concentrated jackfruit production in Chau Thanh district (Hau Giang), more than 1,100 ha of fruit-growing areas (jackfruit, guava) in Thap Muoi district (Dong Thap), farming areas for field frogs and zebrafish in Dong Thap, sweet potato area in Binh Tan (Vinh Long) and Hon Dat (Kien Giang), large freshwater prawn farm in U Minh Thuong (Kien Giang), more than 6,000 ha of lemongrass in Tan Phu Dong (Tien Giang), regions specialized longan fruit in Chau Thanh (Dong Thap), Binh Dai (Ben Tre), star apple in Ke Sach (Soc Trang)...

Many businesses are surprised about the data supplied for quality agricultural products in the above regions. It also proves that the provinces focus more on agricultural production but lack agricultural marketing for their famous products, especially to foreign businesses that have recently invested in agriculture in Viet Nam.

On August 4th, the group also supported the connection of many orders for supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong. Although the orders are small, about 2-3 tons/order, the goods are very diverse including vegetables, fruits, seafood and foods.

Working group 970 also piloted the model of “offering and delivering goods by district”. The working group cooperates with the District’s People's Committee, enumerates the sources of goods supplier in the district, finds a means of transporting goods from the district to the city, obtains full permission for the vehicle and driver, and then makes offers to supermarkets and delivery organizations, each vehicle ranges within only 1-3 tons but sells a lot of items in the district
