300 OCOP products on display
From April 26 to 29, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province held the event OCOP business meeting and product development activities. It is an event in an activity series to promote OCOP products in Ca Mau province and the event "The scent of U Minh forest".
The event was organized to support the development and promotion of OCOP products, a typical product of Ca Mau province. Besides, it is also an opportunity to update market information for businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities in the province.
In particular, the conference with the participation of 300 OCOP products of 90 enterprises, cooperatives, production, and business establishments in Ca Mau province and some provinces and cities in the country will be displayed and promoted in the Conference Center of Ca Mau Province.
Mr. Ta Minh Son, director of Tu Son supermarket, shared: "OCOPs owners need to understand that, when launching a product, they must see if there are similar products on the market. From there, the units have a direction to calculate the competitiveness of the product".
In addition to suggestions from collectors, consumers, establishments, and owers' OCOP of Ca Mau province, they also had the opportunity to share experiences in production, trading, and consumption.
Ms. Tran Thi Xa, Director of Dam Doi Ba Khiem Cooperative (Dam Doi District, Ca Mau Province), said: Meeting businesses and homebuyers is an opportunity for OCOP owners like us to have the opportunity to share experiences, thereby contributing to improving and enhancing the product quality of the cooperative's OCOP".

77 OCOP products from 3 stars upwards
To meet and capture the needs of consumers, production facilities, business households, cooperatives, and enterprises regularly improve the quality and design, thereby completing the product criteria of the OCOP program.
Up to now, Ca Mau province has had 77 OCOP products that have been recognized with three stars or more, of which three products have achieved four stars.
Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Le Van Su, shared: that OCOP products are now consumed through many sales channels such as introduction points and selling specialty products, with OCOP characteristics associated with tourist areas in the province.
Especially, OCOP products are exported to Australia, Canada, China, and Singapore... and connected on e-commerce exchanges such as madeincamau.com (Ca Mau province), voso.vn (Viettel), postmart.vn (VNPT) and other channels such as Lazada, Amazon, Alibaba, Zalo, Facebook...
The Provincial People's Committee of Ca Mau province also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Central Retail Group at the conference.
Central Retail promotes product development of OCOP products in Ca Mau province
The Provincial People's Committee of Ca Mau province also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Central Retail Group at the conference. Thereby, the purchasing departments of GO!, Big C, and Tops Market supermarkets of Central Retail Vietnam Group participated in this series of events.
Also, a representative of the purchasing department of Central Retail Vietnam shared and provided the procedures for entering supermarket goods and suggested improving the packaging design to be more suitable for potential businesses.
Providing a specific company address, email address, and phone number will help businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP subjects of Ca Mau province conveniently and quickly bring OCOP goods into business in GO!, Big C supermarket system under Central Retail.
Central Retail also signed a cooperation agreement with the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau province on promoting the development of OCOP products in Ca Mau province in Central Retail's distribution system.
In mid-June, Central Retail will coordinate with ministries, sectors, and localities to organize the "Week of OCOP and quintessential Vietnamese products 2022", at GO!, Big C supermarkets nationwide, aiming to together with the Government of Vietnam in the economic recovery policy 2022: stimulating consumption demand, expanding tourism; raise awareness of the value of OCOP and unique local agricultural products.
Mr. Paul Le, Vice President and Director of Value Creation of Central Retail Group, shared - Central Retail Group, "We want to build a program to understand OCOP products clearly, and identify which products have the potential to develop or even be produced abroad."
According to Mr. Paul Le, establishments, farming households, and cooperatives... need to know how to read and understand documents about products. Especially, each OCOP product must have the signature and trademark of the manufacturer and of Ca Mau province.
Also, on this occasion, the delegates cut the opening ribbon and visited the OCOP product display in Ca Mau province in 2022.
