Overcoming the difficulties of the Covid-19 context, Panasonic Vietnam in coordination with the Natural Resource and Environment Communication Center (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) donates 110.000 trees to Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province in the annual tree-planting program "Panasonic for a green Vietnam" of 2021.
This is also the first year the tree-awarding program for protecting forests together with logging is with the contribution of tripartite socialization: Locality – business – people, in which Panasonic donated trees to the local areas, for people to take care of under the supervision of the local government.
After eight continuous years of implementing the program, on the 50th anniversary of their official presence in Vietnam, Panasonic has reached the milestone of donating over 250,000 trees to 10 provinces and cities across the country.
Mr. Marukawa Yoichi, Head Executives of Panasonic Vietnam shared: “Since our founding, Panasonic's basic business philosophy has always been to contribute to society through the business activities. We have tried our best to realize this philosophy for over 50 years of operating in Vietnam.
In line with the Environmental Vision of the Enterprise until the year 2050, we strive to achieve zero CO2 emissions by creating more clean energy and reducing CO2 emissions. Panasonic's annual tree-planting program is one of the mentioned operations to contribute to the creation of a green Vietnam. And I believe this is also in line with the direction of the Vietnamese government.”
The annual tree-planting program “Panasonic for a green Vietnam” has been implemented continuously and persistently since 2013. Panasonic especially focuses on contributing, joining hands with the government and local authorities to protect and develop planted forests as an effective means to realize the goal of reducing CO2 emissions suggested by Panasonic.
This year, the program supports Tuyen Quang province for the first time. This is the district with a large forest area and suitable conditions for planted forest development. Additionally, local leaders and people are very active in sustainable forest protection and development activities in parallel with economic development.
Placed in the top three provinces of the country in percentages of forest coverage (after Bac Kan and Quang Binh), Tuyen Quang plays a vital role, as part of the lungs of the North of our country. Deploying afforestation in Tuyen Quang will help make a more active and effective contribution to reducing CO2, increasing oxygen reserves for the North and Vietnam in general.
With that in mind, Panasonic donated 110,000 hybrid acacia and eucalyptus trees in the protected forest of Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province with wishes of protecting one of the largest green-covered areas of the country in general and the North region in particular, at the same time supporting the forest livelihood of the local people.
This is the first year the tree-awarding program for protecting forests together with logging is with the contribution of tripartite socialization: Locality – business – people. Within the framework of the program, Panasonic also donated 28 trash cans to new rural communes under the district to support local waste treatment, spreading the message of environmental protection to the people.
With the expert advice and support of the Natural Resource and Environment Communication Center - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, after eight continuous years of implementation, Panasonic has donated more than 250.000 trees for ten provinces and cities in both the North and the South, both in mountainous, plains and coastal areas.
