All cashew nut containers in the Italy export scam have been returned to Vietnamese companies.
The Vietnam Trade Office in Italy reported that after a process of working with the authorities of this country, the Larino Civil Court on May 27 ruled to return the ownership of 3 cashew nut containers to Vietnamese companies. The 3 containers were within the scope of the court's proceedings and were among 5 containers still remaining at the Italian port as part of the above case of export scam.
On June 15 and 16, Napoli Economic - Financial Police and Genoa Port Military Police made a decision to return the last 2 containers to Vietnamese enterprises.
Thus, up to now, all 100 containers of cashew nuts have been returned to the Vietnamese sides.
Earlier, at the beginning of March 2022, the Vietnam Cashew Association reported that 100 containers of cashew nuts that were contracted by 6 companies to export to Italy showed signs of being scammed.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as soon as signs of fraud were detected, Vietnamese enterprises coordinated with related authorities to promptly stop the delivery of 26 containers.
Thirty-nine among 74 containers had been timely stopped at the transit port in Singapore ... and then returned to Vietnam. Some others on their way to the port in Italy were requested by the courier to return all original documents which had not been delivered to the buyer's bank.
Out of 35 containers that lost their original documents, 30 were shipped to Vietnam and sold to other customers in Italy or to a third country. The remaining 5 were returned to Vietnamese exporters through the above judgments and decisions of the Larino Civil Court, the Napoli Economic and Financial Police, and the Genoa Port Military Police.
