Cargill, Incorporated, which is the largest agricultural conglomerate in the United States, held the inauguration ceremony of the Provimi Premix plant in the Giang Dien Industrial Zone, Trang Bom District, Dong Nai Province on September 25. The production plant has a total investment capital of 28 million USD.

The production plant covers an area of 30,000 square meters, with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons. It features modern infrastructure and superior advanced technology, boasting an automation rate of over 95%. This plant was established to expand and completely replace the old Provimi plant in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. In addition, it is currently the most modern factory in Asia to date.
The plant will process a diverse range of specialized animal nutrition products, from standard Premix, which is a mixture of vitamins and minerals, to Basemix nutritional solution packages, which is a mixture of vitamins, minerals, and various additives. It will also produce special health-enhancing additives and ingredients under the Promivi brand, catering to various livestock, including cattle, poultry, aquaticanimals. Additionally, the plant specializes in producing animal feed.

"The outstanding production capacity and extensive storage space of the plant will enhance the production capacity of nutritional supplements for animal feed and improve self-sufficiency within the country. This will also enhance the accuracy and traceability of specialized nutritional products.
It will significantly improve access to world-class nutritional supplements and specialized nutrition products for livestock farmers, including cattle, poultry, and aquatic animals, as well as animal feed factories in Vietnam. The plant will help meet the rapidly growing demand for high-quality animal feed in Vietnam and export," shared Mr. Pham Duc Thang, General Manager of the Animal Nutrition Division of Cargill Thailand and Vietnam.

At the ceremony, Mr. Brian Sikes, Chairman and CEO of Cargill, Incorporated, emphasized that Vietnam has been a long-standing key market for Cargill worldwide. As a result, this investment expansion aligns with Cargill's long-term strategic vision for Vietnam. Cargill remains committed to contributing to the success of its customers and the progress of each country where it operates.

We believe that Vietnam has a plentiful and high-quality workforce. The local labor force, both at the employee and management levels, accounts for up to 99% of our workforce
Secondly, the Vietnamese government has made an effort to attract and retain foreign investors through a series of policy mechanisms to support business development. We chose Vietnam as an attractive investment destination. The inauguration of this plant demonstrates Cargill's commitment to sustainable investment and business activities in Dong Nai province as well as Vietnam as a whole," emphasized Mr. Brian Sikes.

Ms. Melissa Bishop, Deputy Ambassador of the United States to Vietnam, noted, "The agricultural trade turnover between Vietnam and the United States reached 9.8 billion USD in 2022. Vietnam is currently the 9th largest importer of US agricultural products, whereas the United States is the largest importer of Vietnamese agricultural products. This remarkable growth was made possible by the partnership, sustainable cooperation, and long-term investment commitment in the Vietnamese market by companies like Cargill."

According to Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Dong Nai province has focused on attracting foreign investment. The province recognizes Cargill's determination and commitment in its business endeavors that place an emphasis on social responsibility, particularly in the company's priority areas of food security, nutrition, and sustainable development, as well as in the charitable endeavors of the Cargill Cares Fund.

"We believe that the success of Cargill and Provimi will contribute significantly to enhancing the image of Dong Nai province with businesses in the United States and other foreign investors. Most notably, the leaders of Vietnam and the United States recently issued a Joint Statement on elevating the Vietnam-US relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development," emphasized Mr. Vo Tan Duc.
To date, Cargill has invested over 160 million USD in Vietnam to build 11 animal nutrition production plants, one grain and oilseed supply center, and two technology application centers for shrimp and fish. Cargill currently has nearly 1,500 employees in Vietnam. After establishing a presence in Vietnam, Cargill has continuously promoted the transfer of technology and farming methods to livestock farmers, providing them with expertise, knowledge, and global supply chain capabilities. Thanks to a multitude of nutrition and animal health training workshops since 1997, Cargill has trained over 1.7 million farmers in animal health care and nutrition, as well as farm management.
During its operation in Vietnam, Cargill has actively implemented Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to support communities where Cargill operates.
