Within the framework of the 2022 Dak Lak Agricultural Investment Promotion Conference on April 28, Dak Lak Department of Planning and Investment handed DHN Dak Lak Hi-tech Agriculture Development JSC (Sub-area 564, Ea M'Droh commune, Cu M'gar district) the Investment Registration Certificate for the “DHN Dak Lak hi-tech application breeding area” project.
DHN Dak Lak Hi-tech Agriculture Development JSC will construct the following items: farrowing pig farm, pregnant pig farm, weaning pig farm, gilt farm, power station, and housing for technical staff. The unit will provide commercial grandparent and parent breeding pigs. The estimated land area to implement the project is approximately 200 ha with a total investment of VND 1,500 billion.
Realizing the urgent need to build a disease-free area as well as meet the increasing demand for healthy and disease-free genetic breeds after each disease outbreak to serve the re-herd, De Heus and Hung Nhon Group have cooperated to establish a joint venture to develop high-yielding piglets named DHN Dak Lak (located in the High-tech Agriculture Complex).
The intention is to provide the market with healthy and genetic pig lines that contribute to improving productivity, output competitiveness and quality for farmers. This move goes in line with the trend of high-value industrial concentrated breeding.
According to Mr. Vu Manh Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group, Dak Lak possesses many advantages in climate and trade. In particular the high-yield piglet farm project here has a capacity of raising 2,500 great-grandparent and grandparent pigs that are carefully selected to ensure good genetic resources.
The project is also invested with a solar power system to serve production activities, contributing to saving costs and protecting the environment in line with world trends. This demonstrates De Heus' commitment to providing clean, sustainable products to customers from animal feed to high-quality breeding stock.
The complex will apply 4.0 technology throughout the breeding process, helping to control the quality of livestock in its zone, optimize livestock performance, reduce product prices and attain high economic efficiency;
DHN Dak Lak will implement environmental-friendly and energy-saving measures in animal husbandry, pig slaughtering, organic fertilizer production and farming that meet the standards and technical regulations of Vietnam and other international specialized organizations.
Mr. Gabor Fluit, CEO Asia of De Heus Group, said, "As an enterprise from the Netherlands, De Heus will continue to develop new linkages to improve the quality of the value chain as well as the lives of not only farmers and business people but also all Vietnamese consumers. It also affirms our commitment to the mission of raising the animal protein value chain in Vietnam to a new level, contributing to bringing clean, safe and affordable food closer to consumers."
Oriented to 2025 and 2030, De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group will continue to cooperate to expand and develop a network of large-scale great-grandparent and grandparent pig breeding projects and disease-free areas in five provinces in the Central Highlands.
After completing the project in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Kon Tum and Lam Dong, the joint venture De Heus and Hung Nhon will raise the total capacity to 10,000 - 15,000 seeds of great-grandparent pig breeds and 100,000 - 120,000 of grandparent pig breeds. Once completed, the chain of projects will contribute to shaping the Central Highlands into a center for supplying piglets and developing leading hi-tech breeding models in Asia.
De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group will cooperate with Belga Corporation and strategic partners to build a breeding area with a scale of 200,000 broiler chickens in Tay Ninh which will supply the market with approximately five million broiler chickens per year. The project will build another breeding area with a scale of five million broiler chickens/flock, and release to the market approximately 25 million broiler chickens a year.
