Horticulture and Landscaping Technology offers a broad range of job opportunities

(VAN) A number of organizations and departments are seeking horticulture and landscaping technology students for internships.

To continually enhance the efficacy of training programs offered by the Department of Horticulture and Landscaping Technology, Vietnam National University of Agriculture hosts many regular seminars for vocational analysis in which recruiters' opinions on employment capacity requirements are gathered.

On this premise, the department's training programs seek to enhance vocational capacity and deliver knowledge and skills through ten standard outputs for Horticulture and Landscaping Technology engineers. Each standard output consists of criterion designed to enhance the ability of pre-graduate students via many subjects.

Recruiters demand graduates of this major work in a variety of positions, including:

- Landscape project manager for businesses and corporations involved in high-tech agricultural production, the building and management of garden landscapes, urban works, eco-tourism regions, export processing zones, and industrial areas.

- Supervising and maintaining the landscape in national parks, biosphere reserves, nature reserves, and historical places...

- Officials and lecturers in vegetable, fruit, and landscape management agencies, research institutions, and universities in the United States and overseas.

Numerous former students of this major have started their own businesses, owned companies in the field of horticulture and landscaping, and achieved evident success, as shown by the results of more than ten graduating courses.

In-depth training

The training program of Horticulture and Landscaping Technology is either designed to provide postgraduates with an appropriate career orientation or ensure its comparability to those of other nationally and regionally renowned Horticulture and Landscaping Technology programs.

The program matches the ABET standard and three programs of the same major with a high level of prestige, including those at Texas A&M University (BA Horticultural Sciences), Wageningen University (Plant science), and Georgia University (BSA Horticulture).

As a result, postgraduate students are able to be successful in the modern workplace or excel in their local or international academic studies.

Horticulture and Landscaping Technology is the major that provides complete knowledge and abilities in the production of vegetables and fruits with high economic value, modern crop management, landscape design expertise, and the use of plants for landscape decoration. During their training, majors not only get advice from companies but also have access to a program that links to employment units.

Beginning with the first semester, students are consulted and receive vocational training through internships and visits to professional fruit and vegetable production facilities and landscapes; students continuously gain practical experience through two internships at the institution and two stages of project implementation prior to entering the internship for graduation.

It seeks to assist students in either defining their future careers or finding suitable positions after graduation. Their initiatives are showcased at yearly expos, which have gained the attention of industry businesses and sponsors.

On some occasions, experts and enterprises are also asked to share with students their learning experiences, scientific research, and professional-related practical expertise. A number of organizations and departments are hiring Horticulture and Landscaping Technology students for internships. Recruiters have accompanied and made significant contributions to the development and renovation of horticulture and landscaping training.
