Honoring 12 outstanding enterprises in the livestock industry of Vietnam

(VAN) On October 9, the Livestock Department announced the Vietstock Awards 2024, recognizing 12 leading enterprises in the livestock industry of Vietnam.

The award announcement ceremony is part of the Vietstock 2024 event series held in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the 12th year the award has been organized, aimed at honoring outstanding contributions to the development of the livestock industry.

According to Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Director of the Livestock Department, the livestock industry has experienced impressive growth over the past decade, maintaining an annual growth rate of 5-7%. During this period, meat production has increased by 1.8 times, egg production has risen by 3.0 times, and fresh milk production has surged by 3.9 times. In 2023, the total production value of the livestock sector is estimated to reach 33 billion USD, contributing 26% to agricultural GDP and over 5% to the overall national GDP.

Enterprises play a crucial and multifaceted role in the livestock industry, contributing to its growth and development in various ways. The livestock industry has also made significant progress in recent years.

"Organizations both within Vietnam and abroad have made substantial investments in research and the application of advanced technologies across various areas, including breeding, animal feed production, housing equipment, and environmental management. These efforts have played a critical role in enhancing production efficiency, reducing operational costs, and promoting sustainability within the livestock industry", Mr. Duong Tat Thang said.

Particularly, the collaboration between enterprises and farmers is crucial not only for optimizing production processes but also for creating a stable consumption market that ensures benefits for both parties. Livestock enterprises are highly attuned to market demands, continuously engaging in research and development to provide safe, high-quality products that meet the growing consumption needs of society.

According to Mrs. Rose Chitanuwat, Director of Project Chains - ASEAN at Informa Markets Group, the Vietstock Awards play a vital role in promoting collaboration and innovation within the industry. Additionally, this event serves as an opportunity for the Livestock Department and the organizing committee to honor creativity and innovation across all areas of the livestock sector, ranging from new breeds to novel biosecurity solutions.

These awards highlight the significant contributions of companies in researching and developing innovative technologies and practical solutions that effectively tackle the various challenges facing the livestock industry in Vietnam", Mrs. Rose remarked.

The Vietstock Awards 2024 represents much more than just an accolade celebrating exceptional accomplishments and remarkable progress; it stands as a testament to the unwavering efforts and commitment of outstanding enterprises within Vietnam's livestock industry. This prestigious award is carefully evaluated and determined by a distinguished review council, which includes representatives from various government agencies, livestock associations, and esteemed organizations in Vietnam.The evaluation criteria are implemented in a clear, transparent and fair manner, encompassing 8 distinct categories for awards within the livestock sector.

The Vietstock Awards 2024 encompass eight distinct categories that reflect the diverse and critical areas within the livestock industry. These categories include: Livestock waste treatment and management technology; Closed-loop value chain integration; Development of circular economy; Biosecurity in livestock farming; Production of livestock waste treatment products; Production of livestock equipment; Animal feed production; and Animal breeding production.

The Vietstock 2024 international exhibition, which focuses on livestock, animal feed, aquaculture and meat processing, is being held from October 9 to October 11 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). This significant event features more than 400 exhibitors representing 50 countries and regions, showcasing a wide array of products and innovations in the industry. The event is expected to attract around 13.000 visitors.
