Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuat - Deputy Director of Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the application of digital technology to the production and distribution of agricultural products is becoming an inevitable trend within the agricultural sector. In order to successfully carry out the digital transformation of agriculture, it is necessary to accompany and support farmers in applying digital technology to production.
Farmers in the digital transformation of agriculture not only play a key role but also require the most attention. Moreover, Vietnamese agricultural products and Hai Phong's products in particular are mainly produced by farmers.
Meanwhile, the majority of farmers are now regularly using mobile phones. Therefore, by applying digital transformation in agriculture, farmers can easily and directly access new technologies in the field of science and technology as well as promote the connection channel to consume output products in the production process of agricultural products not only domestically but also internationally.
Hai Phong's agriculture sector will continue to build models of high technology application, information technology, and smart agriculture connection in the immediate future.
Furthermore, it will create favorable conditions to promote organizations, businesses and individuals to invest, support and strengthen research into digital technologies, development of digital platforms, digital data activities, create digital content services on agriculture and rural development to serve society and develop the digital economy.
Additionally, promote activities to connect production and consumption of agricultural products on online platforms and based on the data regarding supply and demand of agencies, units, associations, industries and businesses inside and outside Hai Phong city.
