According to a report by the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province, there are currently about 30 enterprises (in the agricultural sector) in the province exporting to nearly 40 countries. The Ministry of Industry and Trade recognizes three reputable export enterprises: Vinh Hiep Co., Ltd., Hoa Trang Import-Export Co., Ltd., and Bien Ho Tea Joint Stock Company.

In addition, some other typical enterprises are Doveco Gia Lai Fruit and Vegetable Import Export One Member Company Limited, Louis Dreyfus Trading, and Processing Company Limited... These enterprises have expanded their production scale. Processing, investing in modern equipment, focusing on deep processing of products... thereby affirming the position and reputation of Gia Lai’s enterprises internationally.

In addition, Gia Lai province has 214 OCOP products with typical regional characteristics of the province, product quality meeting commercial standards such as coffee, pepper, macadamia, Sachi, bamboo shoots forest… step by step asserting its brand in the market. It contributed to bringing the province's export turnover to US$ 368 million, up nearly 39% over the same period last year.

Ms. Nguyen Khanh Huyen, Director of Gia Lai Bio-Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Pleiku City) said that the company currently exports more than 40 tons of passion fruit daily on average. If counting from the beginning of the year until now, the company has exported thousands of tons of passion fruit, mainly to China and some European countries. Although the company's exports are skyrocketing, it is still not enough to meet the import markets of other countries.

To meet the export demand, the company will associate with households to create a sizeable raw material area to meet the source of goods. Also, the company will register the area code to aim for official export.

Hung Son Hi-tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Dak Doa district) is one of the impressive export enterprises in the first months of the year. Specifically, in just the first five months of the year, the company exported nearly 9,000 tons of bananas, which more than doubled compared to 2021. The company's end products have been exported to challenging markets such as Korea, China, Japan, and China.

Mr. Le Hoang Linh, banana farm manager of Hung Son Hi-tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, said that compared to agricultural products, the export market of bananas to other countries is still huge.

Therefore, to prepare for banana export activities, right from its establishment in 2020, in addition to deploying production on 400 hectares of raw materials, the company also carried out procedures for growing area code registration and building a systematic packing facility. It helps improve the efficiency of banana production and export compared to other units.

Doveco Gia Lai Fruit and Vegetable Import-Export Company is an enterprise that exports key products such as Pineapple, passion fruit, soybean, mango... and concentrated and frozen products to European and American markets. Since the beginning of this year, the company's exports have reached about US$ 40 million, up approximately 126% over the same period last year.

Mr. Pham Van Binh, Director of Gia Lai Province's Department of Industry and Trade, said that many favorable factors made agricultural products of Gia Lai grow vigorously in the first months of the year. Specifically, consumer demand in the world increased, especially on holidays in some main markets such as Europe and the US.

The beginning of the year is when agricultural products of Gia Lai (mainly coffee and fruits) are in the harvest season, so the volume of goods is significant to meet the export market. Meanwhile, the average export price of some essential agricultural products increased by 10% over the same period, especially the export price of coffee increased by more than 20%.

In particular, the positive impact of the European-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP)... are the factors that promote export activities.

To promote exports in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to carry out many activities to accompany businesses. Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade cooperates with the Trade Promotion Department and the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to access market information for Gia Lai businesses.
