Bringing together nearly 100 Ghanaians currently residing and working in Vietnam, the Anniversary Celebration underscored the shared values, spirit of cooperation, and mutual economic aspirations between the two nations. It also commemorated the 59th year since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Ghana (March 25, 1965 - March 25, 2024).

In recent years, Ghana and Vietnam have experienced notable advancements in their trade relations. Ghana stands as the largest importer of Vietnamese rice in the West African market. Conversely, Ghana has become a primary supplier for Vietnam's increasing demand for high-quality wood products.

Moreover, the strong bond between Vietnam and Ghana extends beyond trade. Addressing the celebration, President of the Ghana Community in Vietnam, Christian Amoh, highlighted the contributions of Ghanaian citizens in fostering innovation and economic growth across various sectors such as education, healthcare, finance, and telecommunications in Vietnam.

"However, despite these achievements, Ghanaians still encounter challenges with visa and immigration policies in Vietnam, impeding the smooth flow of goods and services between the two countries. The Ghanaian side is keen to address these barriers, create more conducive trade conditions, and bolster the economies of both nations," emphasized the Chairman of the Ghana Community in Vietnam.

Accordingly, Mr. Amoh expressed that Vietnam and Ghana possess immense potential to further enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple domains by expanding trade, investment, and collaboration in promising sectors, including renewable and clean energy.

Ghana's economy thrives on its abundant natural resources, including gold, oil, gas, diamonds, manganese, and titanium. With a stable process of poverty reduction, Ghana is regarded as a country with a favorable business environment. Its strategic location also positions it as an attractive destination for companies seeking swift access to African markets. Furthermore, Ghanaian government policies ensure that both local and foreign entrepreneurs benefit from appealing investment opportunities.

On the Vietnamese side, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Senior Advisor at the Government Office, expressed gratitude to the Ghanaian community for consistently serving as a gateway for Vietnam to access the West African market. Mr. Hung affirmed Vietnam's readiness to reciprocate by serving as a gateway for Ghana to expand cooperation within the ASEAN region.

The commemoration of the 67th National Day of the Republic of Ghana in Hanoi serves as a cornerstone for further robust activities of the Ghanaian community in Vietnam, reinforcing the mutual desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
