Fund for a Green Future donates 30,000 trees for reforestation in Can Gio.
On August 19, the Fund for a Green Future - Vingroup signed a cooperation agreement with the Communication Center of Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) and Green Journey Social Enterprise Joint Stock Company, together taking actions for a green future, in parallel with the commitment to sponsor the planting of 30,000 forest trees in Can Gio, equivalent to VND 6 billion.
Fund for a Green Future was established on 7/7/2023 with the mission to contribute to the Government's target of net zero emissions by 2050, promote green journeys in daily life, raise public awareness, urge the public to “take action today for a green tomorrow, for future generations”.
To realize the mission, the Fund for a Green Future will deploy ten key action programs on a national scale, diving deeper into ten essential areas of life: Green mobility, Green Energy, Green Office, Green Consumption, Green Environment, Green Urban Garden, Green Tourism, Green Education, Green Health and Green Sports.
Ho Chi Minh City will be the first locality to implement the message “HCMC - Pioneering transformation for a green future”.
The ten key action programs will be first implemented in Ho Chi Minh City, gradually expanding the scale of activities to other provinces and cities across the country. The city's message is "HCMC - Pioneering transformation for a green future".
In particular, the opening activity is in the field of "Green Education", with the highlight being the TedTalk Speech Contest, themed "Technology for a green world". The next series of activities are in the field of "Green Moving", encouraging people to prioritize zero-emission, environment-friendly means of transport. The remaining fields will soon be launched by Ho Chi Minh City in turn.
Also within the framework of the event, the Fund for a Green Future signed a cooperation agreement and launched the action program "For a Green Vietnam" with the Communication Center for Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) and Green Journey Social Enterprise Joint Stock Company.
The agreement between the three parties aims to improve the quality of life for people and promote green activities in terms of economy, culture - society and protection of the natural environment for future generations. The ultimate goal is to actively spread green lifestyles in the community, together bringing net emissions to zero by 2050.
Apart from joining hands with provinces and ministries, the Fund for a Green Future also actively implements action programs in each locality. To be more specific, in Ho Chi Minh City, the fund committed to sponsoring the planting of 30,000 forest trees in Can Gio - the "green lung" of Ho Chi Minh city, a World Biosphere Reserve in Vietnam recognized by UNESCO. The program is expected to plant trees including Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, tall-stilt mangrove (Rhizophora apiculata), mangrove apple (Sonneratia caseolaris) and many other varieties, with an estimated budget of VND 6 billion.
Previously, the Fund for a Green Future had launched programs in Hanoi, Khanh Hoa, and Can Tho to change the appearance and quality of the living environment and upgrade the "green" index in localities. In Can Tho, the campaign "Join hands to pick up trash in the river" launched by the fund has collected more than 10 tons of waste, worth more than VND 200 million.
The Green Saigon Volunteer Group and the Fund for a Green Future cleaned up 20 tons of garbage in Cau Son alley, Binh Thanh District.
Nationwide, many green actions of the fund have also brought practical results after only 1 month of implementation. VinBus Company contributes to reducing more than 23 million kg of CO2 discharged into the environment with a transportation distance of nearly 26 million km, equivalent to planting more than 1 million trees.
The online race "Education for a green future" organized by the fund and LightenUp attracted nearly 1,000 teachers to bring in funding to support clean water installation and toilet repair for six schools. In particular, the fund has collected nearly VND 4 billion from the support of 500,000 customers using the products and services of VinFast and Xanh SM for environmental activities.
With the announcement, the Fund for a Green Future will now implement the ten action programs methodically and consistently in ten essential areas of life, effectively promote the green actions of each person in society, striving for a green future.
