With over 700 booths from 500 domestic and international entities representing over 10 countries and territories, including the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Australia, Taiwan, and Thailand, Vinachem Expo 2024 is considered the largest specialized international event in Vietnam by businesses and industry professionals.
The exhibition features a variety of machinery, equipment, technology, and products in seven thematic groups, including the chemical industry, agricultural chemicals and plant protection products, chemical equipment, the paint and coatings industry, adhesives and tapes, rubber and tires, plastic technology and products, and biotechnology.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Trung declared that the Ministry is dedicated to promoting environmentally friendly, green agriculture that is climate-resilient, reduces rural environmental pollution, and reduces emissions, as outlined in the Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development Strategy 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050.
In recent years, the Ministry has partnered with local authorities, businesses, and international organizations to execute programs and projects designed to enhance the production and utilization of biological plant protection products and organic fertilizers. Currently, over 13% of plant protection products in Vietnam are biological, and approximately 15% of fertilizers are organic. These changes have had a substantial impact on both human health and the environment.
Deputy Minister Hoang Trung underscored the exhibition's significance and practicality, as it offers a platform for domestic and international chemical manufacturers and businesses to exchange information, share experiences, and investigate markets. It also enables the establishment of connections with prospective partners for research, application, production, and business development in the chemical sector, as well as the facilitation of domestic enterprises' access to advanced technologies, solutions, and modern products. Furthermore, the event provides a platform for government agencies to collect feedback from stakeholders to refine policies per international norms and practical requirements.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Dung, the Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Chemical Group, declared that the group and its members have consistently pursued sustainable and environmentally benign development, with an emphasis on green production and growth, throughout its operations. Other noteworthy initiatives include the promotion of the National Energy Savings Program, the research and implementation of greenhouse gas reduction measures, energy conservation, resource optimization, and waste recycling. The group has also prioritized the development of internal environmental policies, which include the adoption of environmentally benign and advanced technologies, the promotion of innovation, and the investment in pollution control technology.
Seminars, consultations, Q&A sessions, B2B networking, and the introduction of new technologies and products involving government agencies, trade associations, and businesses are among the activities that are organized as part of the event. Additionally, specialized tours and surveys of key production plants, industrial zones, and export processing zones in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Bac Ninh are arranged.
