On August 11, 2023, at WinMart Thang Long (Hanoi City) and WinMart Landmark 81 (Ho Chi Minh City), WinCommerce (the owner of the WinMart/WinMart+/WIN retail chain) cooperated with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) organizes the opening event of the Australian Taste Festival 2023 to promote the culinary quintessence of Australia to Vietnamese consumers.
The event is part of the Australian Taste Festival 2023 program, which will take place from August 10 to August 23 at 61 WinMart supermarkets and all WinMart+ stores in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Since 2017, the Taste of Australia Festival has been organized annually by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). This year is the fourth year that WinCommerce and this Agency have collaborated to organize the event, contributing to the event's success by bringing Vietnamese consumers various high-class products, fresh and new flavors.
This year's program is implemented because the two countries organize many activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia (1973 - 2023). Decisive development steps promote bilateral trade further in the future.
At the event, WinCommerce doubled the number of goods compared to last year, up to nearly 100 products imported directly from Australia.
Prominent products include directly imported fruits such as Australian yellow oranges and Australian tangerines; fresh food such as Australian beef and salmon; Premium wines, cereals, and dairy products; quality cheeses are eligible for promotions up to 20% or buy one get one free.
Australia has long been famous worldwide for its strict production and quality control, ensuring food safety and hygiene before distributing products to domestic and foreign markets.
In recent years, Australian products have always been on the list of imported products loved by customers at the WinMart/WinMart+ system because of their taste and reputable origin.
Khuc Tien Ha - Senior Regional Director of the WinMart chain, said: "To meet the increasing consumption trend of imported products of customers, WinCommerce constantly connects with Australian suppliers to make style richer than the food source in the system."
Mr. Chris Morley, Australian Government Investment and Trade Counselor, said: "Austrade is delighted to continue to partner with WinCommerce to jointly promote Australians' favorite food and drink to our friends here in Vietnam. This year has special significance for both countries as we together celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations; an increasingly strong relationship – and our exporters of meat, grains, packaged foods, seafood, dairy products, and wine look forward to continuing to deliver the best of Australia to Vietnamese customers".
The Australian Taste Festival launch event at WinMart Thang Long and WinMart Landmark 81 includes interesting activities such as check-in photography, product testing, and many promotions at the point of sale. "Besides focusing on distributing Vietnamese products, supporting Vietnamese producers and farmers to provide high-quality products at reasonable prices to consumers, we also add imported products to serve customers better than the diverse needs of customers," added Mr. Ha.
In the first quarter of 2023, two-way trade turnover reached US$ 3.41 billion, making Australia the 7th largest trading partner of Vietnam, and Vietnam the 10th largest partner of Australia. This relationship is the result that shows that the two countries' active economic and trade cooperation in recent years and the continuation of economic cooperation and trade promotion are the top priorities of the two countries.
With the program Taste Australia Festival, WinCommerce will continue to develop long-term cooperation and accompany Austrade, and Australian suppliers, allowing Vietnamese consumers to access high-quality specialty products high of your country
