On March 18, at the Hoa Binh 1 Wind Power Plant (Hoa Binh District, Bac Lieu Province), the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Vietnam Records Organization, and Panasonic Vietnam Co., Ltd. jointly held a ceremony to receive the record for "Planting 1 million trees in the shortest time" through the "Green Living for Well-being with Panasonic" program.

Attending the ceremony were Dr. Le Doan Hop, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Information and Communications, and Chairman of the Certification Council of the Vietnam Records Organization; Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, Hero of the People's Armed Forces and Honorary Chairman of the Vietnam Celestial Sphere Records System; leaders of the Departments of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Lieu and Soc Trang; and partners of Panasonic Vietnam Co., Ltd.

The record for planting 1 million trees in the shortest time

Launched in 2022, the "Green Living for Well-being" program was initiated by Panasonic to support the Panasonic Green Impact goal and the government's One Billion Trees Project for the 2021-2025 period. The program has brought to life the idea that every individual can contribute to building a "green tree fund," nurturing the growth of vast forests.

For every air conditioner, refrigerator, washing machine, and product from the Health Care Solutions lineup sold, Panasonic will plant one tree to help grow forests for a greener and healthier Vietnam. After just three years of implementation, Panasonic is proud to be recognized with a Vietnam record for planting over 1 million trees nationwide in the shortest time.

This is not only a significant milestone recognizing Panasonic's meaningful contributions to the community but also an opportunity to express gratitude to customers and partners who have accompanied the corporation. This achievement would not have been possible without the collective efforts of the community - those who have trusted and joined Panasonic in promoting a green lifestyle and contributing to environmental protection.

Mr. Marukawa Yoichi, General Director of Panasonic Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared: "We are extremely proud that Panasonic Vietnam has been recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization for setting the record as the ‘Unit that initiated and successfully planted 1 million trees in the shortest time’ through the ‘Green Living for Well-being’ program with Panasonic. This is not only a meaningful milestone but also a strong motivation for us to continue pursuing green initiatives and join hands for a sustainable Vietnam."

On behalf of Panasonic, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to government agencies, local authorities, partners, and the community for accompanying us throughout this journey. Building on this success, Panasonic is committed to further promoting the 'Green Living for Well-being' program, developing green solutions and technologies, and spreading awareness of sustainable living to the community. The event has also received high praise from representatives of various agencies and local authorities,” Mr. Marukawa Yoichi added.

Mr. Le Van Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Lieu Province, acknowledged and expressed gratitude for Panasonic Vietnam's meaningful contributions to greening the environment and raising community awareness in recent times. He also affirmed that the “Green Living for Well-being” program is an exemplary model of corporate social responsibility. The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Lieu looks forward to continuing to collaborate with Panasonic on the journey to planting millions more trees, gradually creating a greener and healthier Vietnam.

Commitment to a sustainable future

By 2025, the campaign has successfully "greened" 1,071,300 newly planted trees across 20 provinces and cities from North to South, with 17 carefully selected tree species suited to each ecological region. Beyond enhancing landscapes, preventing soil erosion, and protecting groundwater resources, these trees are also capable of absorbing 108,000 tons of CO₂ over the next 10 years. This helps to mitigate the impacts of climate change, leading to an achievement of a clear testament to Panasonic's commitment to working alongside the community in creating a greener and more sustainable future.

As one of the pioneering corporations with a vision for sustainable development, Panasonic continuously expands initiatives, which are driven by communities and promotes a sustainable business model with green technology products. Notably, its comprehensive health solutions enhance air and water quality and improve human well-being. With the goal of providing a holistic healthy lifestyle, Panasonic develops advanced technologies such as nanoe™ X, which purifies the air and inhibits bacteria, supporting internal health enhancement, along with smart home appliances designed for convenience and safety.

Continuing this journey, Panasonic aims to inspire and strengthen connections with customers, partners, and society as a whole, spreading the spirit of green living and responsible consumption. Every energy-saving product and every meaningful action for the environment today will contribute to a Net Zero future. Panasonic calls on the community to join hands in taking action for the environment, creating a greener and more sustainable Vietnam.

As part of the event, on the same morning, Panasonic organized various meaningful experiential activities, with the highlight being the "Forest Visit" program. Guests had the opportunity to directly explore and plant new seedlings in the coastal protective forest of Sóc Trăng province. This activity not only provided additional knowledge about plants and the role of forests in protecting ecosystems and mitigating the impacts of climate change but also inspired a green living mindset within the community.
